Geezus, that company flew us out to the reef from Port Douglas a couple of years ago, I wonder if it was one our pilots!

He was a Kiwi who only had been here for 4 months, had a NZ pilot’s licence but was not licensed to fly here. Was only 22.

Some reports that he was dropped home by a work colleague as he was drunk and he woke up a few hours later and thought he would take a chopper for a spin.dedja wrote:Yep, apparently it was only a 4 min flight before he crashed.
I suppose we’ll never know what was going through his head, but as you suggested, there are reports coming out that he was pissed as the last time people saw him earlier that night.
It’s a miracle he didn’t kill anyone else.
