Booted out after 6 months for being behind in rent but probably only lasted that long because I was "seeing" one of the estate agents at the time ;)

Bought my unit at 27 years of age for $79000, and am about to put it on the market for $240k.

You forgot to add you decided to build a new house at 40 ;)

Yeah, most people buy porches when they have mid life crisis....

So you are not going to build houses as a hobby for investment purposes :(

Moved out when I was 17 into small unit. $70 a week, was a great little place.
Told the mates I'd always leave the door unlocked if I was out so they could bring home any visitors.
One day I locked the door. Came home, they'd found their way in, through the fibro.
Didn't live there much longer.

Moved out with my fiancé (now wife) at 24 into a 3 bedroom home in Mawson lakes.

At 20 we built a house together (also in mawson lakes), but decided at the time that we weren't quite financially stable enough to live on our own. Is now our investment property.

Best of luck with the move Rusty, hope it all goes well.

Moved out with Bank Manager when I was 23 and split @ 25. Bought an investment property @ 25 with zero savings and on the last day any bank in Australia did 100% loans and I had the double first home buyers grant. I litterally was given a house and 6k from the bank.

Since been all around Australia for work with the Minister of Finance and War for the last 5 years.

Was 22 when I moved out with my GF (now wife). Rented for 1 year, then moved, renting another place for 4 years or so before buying it in 2010. Will probably be looking to move in the next couple of years to a slightly bigger place once a kid or two arrives..

My brother still lives at home, he's nearly 30.

My brother moved out about 6 months before me. It was awesome because I could claim all of our joint owned things like dart board, table tennis table etc, which I then moved to my house when I moved out :)

Moved out at 20 with the GF (now wife) and rented for 2 years. Then bought a place together when I was 22, and then we upgraded our house 3 years ago when I was 28.

Will be staying at our current place for a fair time, as no intentions to move and has all the facilities we want/need for now.

17, lived in NT at the time and had started work, parents got transferred to SA so I stayed and moved out with a mate. We were the first of our friends to have our own place so it was the hang out 7 days a week as is the territory style. Never locked the place and was always surprised about who'd be there and in what state when I would get home from work.

I was held back a bit by being a medical student as you don't graduate until you are 24.

I did live in in hospital accommodations during part of the course two years before graduation when I was 22 - 6 weeks in the ground floor of the nurses home at the Children's hospital while doing Paediatrics and 10 weeks in the staff quarters at QEH while doing Obstetrics.

I finally moved out of my family home, at age 23, when I married my first wife in January 1967, and we lived in a house her Uncle owned - he worked for the Department of Mines as a surveyor, and was only home about 3 months of the year. We looked after the block of flats he owned next door when he was away.

My first wife supported me through final year Medicine which she convinced me was viable because as a teacher she was earning more than my father.
We bought our own home in early 1969.

I didn't actually live alone until she and I parted in 1975 - I was 32 then.

Moved out when 21 to a place in Mitcham with a mate. When him and girlfriend at the time built at Woodcroft, I followed them.

Moved back to my parents house when 24.

12 months later bought my first house for 80k. Sold it for 215k.

Moved into current home 8 years ago and slowly renovating it. Won't be moving from here in a hurry.
