Wouldn't do it if i had a pool and wouldn't do it if i wanted to use a pool.

I also notice in the T&C's everything is 'at your own risk'. My understanding is you can't just waiver away legal responsibility eg pool water quality needs to be legal standards if you're offering it as a service.

Interested on thoughts re flooding in Australia currently,

Example of Eugowra NSW where flooding has been a disaster BUT are those that have made a decision to build and reside in what is a flood zone responsible? You would think that insurance will not cover in these areas a wake up call.

Same as those that complain when a plane fly above homes when they built next to an airport?

It's killing SA based businesses, trucks can't travel here via Sydney, the massive train derailment in Victoria has brought rail freight to a halt too.

Transport companies struggle to find drivers to come here via pretty much Melbourne.

You raise an interesting point, I have thought the same myself but on the same token, living in a country town is in your DNA, your parents lived there, their parents lived there, it's who you are so I can understand why they choose to live there.

Insurance premiums are calculated according the the risk you pose.

a lot of insurance companies won't even cover for cyclone if you live above Mackay in QLD (or somewhere around there) and those that do will charge you an arm and a leg.

Our premiums for people living along the river were revised about 2-3 years ago - and we'd quote people who live in Mannum (for example) and their premium would be like 3-4k and they'd bang on about ridiculous that is because they'll never get flooded because they're up from the river.

These same people are probably now sandbagging their houses.

That said, it's very hard to uproot and re-build a whole town - but if they want to stay there, then they either pay the price to be insured for the inevitable or find an insurer where flood is optional and dont' insure and wait for your Government handout.

Flood insurance is generally available now
The cost depends on the risk

It annoys me that the government give big handouts to people who get caught in floods and bushfires when the responsible people pay for their own insurance

Where does Ben Simmons sit in the rankings of unpopular sportsmen?

Considering Philly have arguably the worst sports fans in the world (they even booed Santa), I think his unpopularity is mainly in that city.

Someone like David Warner is unpopular across an entire sport.

Has anyone ever had the situation where your kids refuse to go to school?
If so, what helped to get them back to going to school?

Not for me, but a family member who's going through it with their kids at the moment. Nothing will get them back to school, and they refuse to go to counselling.
Talking early high school age.

I might add the second one started not going because he noticed the first one doing it and thought it was a great idea.

My son refused to go back in year 9, and didn't!
There was nothing I could do about it, he flatly refused to go & when he got bashed in the street a year later that made him withdraw even more.
Now he's uneducated & has no sense of worth, has developed mental health issues, doesn't leave the house, doesn't even visit me & has turned to opiods, basically at 26 his life is fu**ed.
No job prospects at all, tell your friend's kid this story & hopefully it will sink in.

I might add to that the school you attend & the location makes a huge difference, you can call me a snob but I don't give a stuff, I'm living it & know it's a fact.
MW, I'm comparing Craigmore High to Cabra, you know what Cabra is like, it makes a huge difference.

It’s such a sad story and even more sadly far too common. These stories don’t discriminate either against the affluent, poor, fit, unfit, male, female, tall, small
