Unfortunately as a parent, as with Dutchy and the lad hitting the road solo, this is one you can offer advice and support on but ultimately you have to let them navigate their way through this, to an extent. If he develops some Rocky inspired moves and levels some prick then he's dealt with it how he felt he should and you support him through that. If he decides to ignore it, walk away and the bullies move on to their next victim then he's seen fit to deal with it in that manner.

It sucks. Bullies suck. I'll never condone it but I do believe it's a part of life that helps us discover ourselves. Develop our own coping mechanisms. Life isn't fair and it's rarely easy, sometimes we need to adapt and learn to cope and as long as our arse points down young people will go through developmental phases that build character. Sucks that we have too, but perhaps that's what makes us.

Thats pretty much been my approach, but given this is my first exposure to such a thing as a parent, wasn't certain if I advised correctly. I pretty much told him, if it's not your way or preferred method to belt someone then thats perfectly fine, you do you. But either way, this is one of those life bridges that unfortunately I cant cross for you - I can walk you up to it, but you've got to get across by yourself. Would like to think that by the time I pick him up in an hour he tells me the school have acted on it in some way that defuse's the situation.

Would be interested to hear how this all played out JK?

Better, but jury still out mate. Lad was directed to play in the hall on Thursday lunchtime, which is apparently reserved for the naughty kids, but he was told by dep-principal "Im sorry you were brought in here when youve done nothing wrong", so I think the deputy principal was just trying to keep him separate from the other kids. The next day (Fri), of the 3 most troublesome kids, 1 received an internal suspension for overall behaviour, 1 was off sick, and the other that was now on his own wanted to be friends (my lad accepted his offer, and whilst he has no intention of being mates, he did so just to have some peace). Im pretty proud of how he's stood up to it and it looks like the "gang" are splitting up, but I can see the potential for it all resuming again if the ringleader once hes back, decides to keep things going. So hopefully its petered out, but I have my doubts.

This one means that at least the school is well-aware of his behaviour, I very much doubt from the description you've given me that your son would be the only one on the receiving end. Trust that school will go through the steps and if the kid' behaviour doesn't change, he will end up getting himself suspended enough the exclusion becomes the only step left. You will find that without that one influence, the behaviour of the two will change dramatically as well. Good luck with it all.

Thanks Pag, appreciate your advice and input mate. My lad (who is a very honest kid) had told me when this was all kicking off that the kid who ended up being suspended, was always in trouble and I think had previously been suspended before, and it was clear in my chat with the DP that he knew the history of this kids behaviour. 2 of the trouble makers are likely to commence Year 7 at their secondary schools next year so that's even more light at the end of the tunnel. Cheers again.

@ Booney. At the Port game did you have to strictly sit in your allocated seat or were you able to shift to sit near people you knew?

@Sheik Yerbouti :

Needed QR code on your phone
Needed membership card ( No photo ID )
Were directed to your seat and whilst not closely monitored there was an usher / blue coat at almost every walkway / bay
I just sat where my seat was, had no issues getting 8 beers across the night, but didn't try and move to sit with anyone
I suspect you won't be able to sit with mates in bay 320 if your seat is in bay 345.
Pity you aren't playing the Eagles, you could have gone and sat in the forward pocket. ;)

I have never owned a Kogan and plan never to do so. Had a mate who owned one pre 4K, shocking picture, clumsy and clunky controls.
My understanding is that they use lower grade panels from major manufacturers and use their own software on them, they are built down to a price.
Online only so difficult to have a look at one pre purchase, also warranty claim may be awkward.
Pay a little more in a bricks and mortar shop, you can see what you are buying and likely easier to deal with if you have a warranty issue.

Thanks for that, sounds like a big **** up atm. There's only 3 of us so & don't think the North Westies game will be chock a block so I'll take the punt & just change seats to a spare row in the allocated section. Use my newly appointed orphan card to gain sympathy.

We use for the gym i manage. Had them 12 months now and they still work, running from 6am-9pm every day.

The quality is just as good as when we got them but overrall the picture quality doesn't compare to a Sony.

Yep, mate and I both bought one in a recent(ish) Kogam sale. They’re OK but the picture quality definitely not up there with the better brands.

Kogan’s Warranty process is interesting, we tried one of their pool cleaners (cheap plastic rubbish) which didn’t work properly so they sent us a replacement, twice. Got 3 of the bastards now lol

I bought a 52 inch LG for the bedroom from Betta and it cost 550 bucks. It's a bloody ripper with all the bells and whistles. Better off getting a known good brand as they're that bloody cheap anyway. Got a 65 inch Samsung for lounge and that was 2 grand and that's great too but they are so cheap these days. I remember when I got my first 52 inch plasma years ago and it was 5 grand
