It's all a matter of context and the times.

In the 1970s I wore suits to work as a medical consultant in the public hospital system, as did most of my colleagues, but jeans weekends and evenings.
A few years later in private practice it was R M Williams or Cords and open neck shirts, and in Melbourne I conformed to the tie wearing code there.

I only wear suits to semi-formal functions now, and don't go to many of them.

Something I don't understand is Franklin the Turtle.

1. His shell is way too small for him to hide in should predators come along. Does that make him a genetic throwback?

2. How come he has a name but everyone else is called Bear or Goose or whatever? Does that mean this turtle, who doesn't even have the right-sized shell and therefore is the most likely to be EATEN if a real, non-anthropomorphic bear or whatever the hell lives in their world, comes along, is somehow superior to his companions?

I think I may be reading way too much into this. Don't get me started on Giggle and Hoot and the meaning of Jimmy Giggle wearing pyjamas with Hoot's face all over them,

That's a whole alien world to me Fisho - obviously I'm not a parent.
But I'd want any kids I had dealing with a bit more realism as an early preparation for life...
(Then I did have that exposure myself so I'm biased - I had multiple pets in our home and in the neighbours yard, but no TV.)

The sad thing is that the kids weren't even home at the time - I had the TV on for background noise and was too slack to change it to another channel. I could see it out the corner of my eye and started feeling very annoyed at the fact that Franklin's shell was smaller than the rest of his body.

That image "running" across the stadium looked a little like the cars in the advert that was displayed during yesterday's game. Same jerky type movement. Anyone else bored with the game to watch that advert who can make a comparison between the two images?

Also on the video advertisements, does anyone else consider the colours a bit too bright and a bit of a distraction? (probably a good thing the way Norwood played :( )

Same. That's me every time I eat Macca's. I know it's going to make me feel ill but I still have a good whinge afterwards.
