Surely someone at some stage at the council would have said that December wasn't the month to close lanes and do roadworks next the the shopping centre January would actually be perfect with no school.

Councils don't look after main roads ( in most LGA's ), DPTI do.

It’s her brother Jim’s (RIP) place.
I was at a party 2 weeks ago and there was a heap of KI people (inc some Chapmans) there

New lad behind the bar at my local. No personality whatsoever - none. Can’t pour a beer to save himself, clueless. Tries charging you for drinks before actually pouring them (WTF?) and last night was sitting down on a stool behind the jump, yep I said sitting.

90 something year old in our street. Lovely old bloke.

I heard he was selling a car - and my daughter is turning 16 this time next year, so we thought we might put it away if it's in good nick with low kms and can get it for the right price. Problem was I had no idea what the car was/year/km. So yesterday, with the day off I saw him in front of his house. I asked him if he had a car for sale. To which he replied 'no, I've sold it'. It was a mid 2010's Nissan Qashqai, so nothing that I would've bought for my daughter anyway. I said that I was glad he'd been able to sell it and whether he had any trouble. "No" was the response. He traded it in on an 8 seater Hyundai Spacia - brand new!

Good on him I spose. It adds to the Winnebago and Hyundai i30 they've got. But I have no idea what he'd need an 8 seater for.
