Israel records almost 11,000 new COVID Cases overnight, despite being the highest vaccinated populations

Are the cases among the vaccinated, or non vaccinated Daisy...... er sorry Bedge?

Vaccinated, with people now urged to receive a 3rd jab.

It's interesting, because we were told once we reach a reasonable level of vaccinated people life would return to normal - but this is a clear example of somewhere where that's not the case.

Reckon Spurrier and co are going to be keen to ease measures now?

Even at 95% vaccination SA hospitals are going to be drowned if they open everything up
They have no other way of combatting this problem other than these shutdowns.
Its WWI all over again..............
We had a code white (as in no spare beds anywhere) here in south australia yesterday didnt we?

And that was with no community covid...

Israel has had pfizer, AZ and Moderna in use, be interesting to see how many people have had which one.

I'm not sure this is really such a clear example.

For starters, everything is open in Israel; as far as I can see, there are no restrictions other than mask mandates. So I think life is certainly well on its way to normal there.

And their vaccination rate is having a positive impact - although cases are spiking, deaths aren't anywhere near what they were when they were at their peak in Israel.

I think if our hospital system can cope with the virus spreading around Australia uncontrollably - which it will without any restrictions in place - then there's no reason to have any restrictions at all once everyone's had an opportunity to be vaccinated.

Admittedly that's a big 'if'.

Jack Snelling appreciates you saying that.

It was a Brilliant success, we all got told in late 2017 that SA Health had been Transformed.....

How so?
People fuel up and drive place to place all the time.
Sales reps especially.

I thought scanning the app and contact tracing would take care of where people had been.

I don’t think people’s employment should be disclosed here.

It's probably done to answer the inevitable questions of 'how did the cases get here' and 'why were the people allowed into the State'.

Stating their occupation confirms that they were essential workers and not just some randoms driving through the State.

If it wasnt disclosed, the very first question would be, wtf were they doing crossing the border.

Disclosing it upfront is just quicker/more efficient. I dont see it as having a cheap shot at truck drivers at all.

But then again, i didnt have a problem with calling the different variants "indian" or "south african" or whatever, before they changed it to "delta" so what would i know?

And beaten to the punch above.

I think they should just say they are essential workers.
People will speculate regardless.
People’s employment status is irrelevant and should be kept private IMO

True, with information like "truck driver" it'll be easy to work out who it was.

I assume you’re being sarcastic but the way trucking companies work these days it will be easy.
Everything is tracked(if they aren’t cowboys)

We are learning as it goes along. Earlier some Epidemiologists were underestimating the likelihood of mutation, and some business interests were pushing beliefs that the opening up and "saving the economy", to give priority to their interests, could happen quickly, and some politicians bought this idea. It was over-optimistic, as we have gradually learned, though some are still clinging to the idea.

No vaccine guarantees 100% immunity to infection on exposure to an infective agent, but just reduces the likelihood and severity, which may mean it is mildly incapacitating while it lasts in some, and barely noticeable in others - or in between. Vaccines for a virus are unlikely not to need periodic revision and boosters. Some types of virus mutate more rapidly than others, and this makes that likely.

When Covid popped up SA Health ramped up additional sites to cope with the load. Didn't need them in the end but they have the additional capacity is needed.

In saying that they should probably fix that problem now lol

She's itching for a lockdown and a few cases.
