yeah i usually dont leave until 530-6

basically we have to do 37.5 hours in a week, between 7am and 7pm. You can carry up to -10 hours through a pay period, and +37.5 hours. Obviously there are times when i have to be around, like when there is a meeting, etc, but most of the time we just log our hours in a form and get it signed off at the end of the fortnight.

I usually try and get in by 9 so i can build up an extra half hour a day, and then take that time off when it reaches a day, but that hasnt been happening lately. And its bloody hard to stay around on a friday afternoon if you have an hour of flex sitting there!

Its a good system. You are trusted to do the correct amount of hours, but the flexibility is awesome (for instance i drop my son off at childcare on tuesdays, so i like to let him sleep as much as i can, and only get to work at 930)

Without having a logged system I've got good flexibility, for instance after Sunday at the 500 and Robbie Williams I rolled in about 9:30. That won't count though as I had a bacon and egg roll for the boss so it cancels the late arrival out.

Basically as long as I answer the phone I'm all clear, I work "from home" from time to time if I have a large project I need to focus on on the go, or I might be out in the boat with my brother. One or the other.

I like your system but would prefer to be earlier than 7, i schedule a factory that runs non-stop during the week, most of Saturday and parts of Sunday, as long as I keep in front and have contingency plans for when things turn to shit and I'm not here.

My kids have sports every night of the week and there's double ups some nights so I'm keen to start early so I don't feel guilty walking out the door in the afternoon.

the reason it works is we have small work groups - a group is 15 people but within that you usually have 3 smaller cells, and also little interaction with the outside world on an ongoing basis

for managing larger amounts of people or for customer or production focussed roles it wouldnt work

Ive just changed roles and my commute to work has gone from 40 mins each way to 10 mins each way, after 6+ years it is very refreshing and gives me back an hour a day.

My new job (14 months now) in Melbourne provides me a great variety of work. When I am in the office, I am at my desk before 8 am, and its more or less flat chat all day, eat lunch at my desk, only take 10 minutes and that is my SA Footy time. It's usually 5.30 by the time I get away. While it's difficult to work remotely, my NZ trips dictate that I do. I am back to NZ next week and make about 6/8 trips a year. I also need to get back to SA 2 or 3 times a year, as well as up to Sydney & Brisbane. My US trip has been put on hold for 2018, which means I am a shoe in for Europe in 2019.

Working for a global company, e-mails are non stop basically 24/7. I reply in my own time though.
