Going with a high protein/extremly low carb diet (not zero carb)

Only carbs I'm getting is from a 1/4 of a cup of basmati rice for lunch and about 10g of carbs in my post workout protein shake plus very minimal in sauces etc

Misses has been great at home so my energy levels are sitting ok.

Lettuce is my best friend, have replaced my normal rice and pasta meals with lettuce, meaning I can still eat some of my favourite meals such as taco, chilli con carne and chinese

Living off lettuce, eggs, lean mince, chicken breast, broccoli, cottage cheese, low carb protein bar, black coffee, raw nuts

One of the best investments I ever did was a mincer. Buy rump steak and cut all the fat off and mince my own. Only thing I would suggest is to make sure your taking a good multi vitamin.

I got know idea about multi vitamins and types and brands in particular u recommend

I've always used Controlled labs. Universal do a good one but they have about 11 tablets to take. Swisse are ok, a lot lower dosage then the others I mentioned.

Weighed in this morning - 95.0kg exactly - a loss of 5.2kg in bit over 5 weeks.

Nothing fancy, just using MyFitnessPal app on my phone to count my calories and record what i consume in a diary + exercise done, cut back portions and what i'm eating, no alcohol or fast food (very occasionally), mostly fruit, veg, rice etc. and i've been trying to do as much running and cardio as I can at the gym.

I also take a multi-vitamin every morning which helps to make sure i'm getting the right amount of vitamins & iron etc.

I'm up in Townsville working until mid-August - nice free accommodation near the beach, but no scales in the unit.
I'll check in when I'm back in SA.

The boss lady has just signed up for the Michelle Bridges 12WBT thingy... while its all common sense stuff the fact she has paid money for it gives me the right (in her words) to kick her ass (metaphorically) if she starts slacking...

Time to get all Regimental Sargent Major ...

:)

My wife is just finishing the 12 weeks, got to the running 10km goal. Downloaded heaps of the workout videos to an external hard drive to plug into the TV to keep before her log in expires.

She got a heap out of doing the program but I got very sick of hearing Michelle Bridges voice as she watched the motivational stuff every night on the lap top in the lounge while the rest of the family were watching TV.

-3kg in week 1. Going well so far, though my beer cravings hit an all time high when the awesome weather on the weekend came up and I went and played golf casino to play poker and went to the footy. Resisted the urge.

94Kg.
I'm on what I call the Neanderthal diet - meat, vegetables, fruit, and nuts, and very little else except tea, coffee or the odd small amount of liquor.
On the "odd small amount" I bought a 40ml mini of Absinthe for $10 the other day as I'd never tried it - rather bitter and 60% alcohol - interesting taste but I think I'll stick to Chartreuse or Cointreau.

this research is actually being conducted at the moment by UniSA...I know this as I am being one of the pin cushion guinea pigs involved. They are comparing an intermittent diet (one week on/ one week off) to a continous diet.

i will be doing an update around my thoughts etc on my blog over the coming months. if you are interested in having a look pm me and i'll send you through a link.
