I am at that stage again now, becuase I have started pushing myself again. My body is in constant hatred of me as I keep putting myself through it haha.
Will be all worth it in the long run though.

So, the Shannan Challenge is now complete. I had my goals set to try and meet over the 8 weeks, and not only met them but SMASHED them. My goals were as follows:

Lose 1kg per week
Build a fitness base to work harder going forward (after the 8 weeks)
Make healthier food decisions
Try and build a better understanding about lifestyle, food and exercise.

I started the 8 weeks at 128.1kgs, and weighed in on Sunday @ 109.7kgs. So it was 19.4kgs and 15.1% of my body weight. I feel more than ready to take everything on now going forward. I still have a while to go, but it is going to be far easier than what it was 8 weeks ago.

G,day Boys only just discovered this topic.

I started a weight loss program about 12 months ago to get me fitter for football umpiring (boo the forum goes  )

i managed to get myself down from 93.5kg to 66kg between that time and the benefits have been use. only downside is the bank account after buying a whole heap of new clothes :P

been reading everyone else's progress and all i want to say is keep it up your all going great.

Well I've been to a Cardiologist and done my Stress ECG a week ago, which I had been advised to do before starting a fitness programme at my age.
It demonstrated no evidence of any cardiac problems, but did reveal the limits of my fitness.
( I hit a pulse rate of 155bpm in 4.5 minutes - I'm told that if I were fit it should take about 7 minutes.)

I am still at 98.0Kg, but now have no excuse to not start to build my fitness up.

That's an awesome effort Hazbeen! You can really tell the difference when I saw you walking the other day.
I didn't recognise your Mrs. when I saw her up the street a couple of weeks ago. She looks like she has lost heaps and is looking great!
Well done.

I'm taking it slowly, but down to 96 Kg today.
I'm reasonably happy with that in 24 days.

they can work but wouldn't bother with them. To lose weight you need a calorie deficit. There is heaps of calculators on the net I'll usually do about 4 and go on the average (everyone is different so you might need to adjust up or down). Plan to have 6 meals a day and cook your meals the day before. If your meals are planned out ready to go then you have no excuse why your eating hungry jacks. If your feeling like the meals are too small and you are always hungry, drink a glass of water before your meals and put your meal on a small plate or small bowl, it might seem crazy but I have seen this work many of times.
