Red Bull Ampol racing going to be the dominant team.

Only one round, but Erebus are back to the midfield again, goes to show the driver is just as important as the car (sorry Todd).

… and Barry Ryan is still a dick.

All things going well Todd was mid top 10. Got shafted by a shitty pitstop on Saturday and no clutch on Sunday didn't help pitstops either.

Noticed an interesting comment from Cam Waters in the announcement that he's doing this week's NASCAR truck race in Martinsville. Brodie Kostecki is having the year off. The fans aren't stupid and know they all chat to each other away from the track.

Might be time for Betty and Barry to come clean and say he's not coming back!

There's obviously a protracted dispute between Erebus and Kostecki as he is contracted for the year.

For whatever reason, Erebus are not allowing him to be released from his contract. There is no way he will drive for them again, so it's a matter of whether a release can be negotiated to allow him to move on.

It's a lose-lose situation for not only those parties, but also for Todd Hazelwood who has to live race to race.

With regards to Nascar, or more broadly US racing, obviously with Scott McLaughlin going to Indycars and Shane van Gisbergen this year for various Nascar formats, Cam Waters has also shown an interest to follow at some stage, and it would not surprise anyone if that's where Kostecki ends up as well.

It's not necessarily an issue, as long as these drivers are not leaving Supercars because of Supercars, but everyone is different.

That said, Supercars could become irrelevant very quickly if they're not careful and drivers see a better future in the US or overseas rather than hang around here.

Holds no interest to me now that there are no Holdens (at least the Lion badge) any more

This fixation on names and not marques leaves me cold

Just my opinion

They were never really Holdens anyway, way back to the very first Commodore they were basically rebadged Opels.

I definitely have a soft* spot for Holden, my Dad worked there for 35 years and I even did a stint there during my Uni days. Beware, if you own a VL Commodore, then it may have some made by dedja components..

When the reigning champion doesn't want to drive then something is wrong with your comp.
Yes he's contracted but he doesn't want to drive for Erebus so cut him loose.

Can’t blame Supercars for Barry Ryan being a farquit.

Sad to hear.

Whilst widely regarded as his wife, they never actually got married, but she took on his name. Feel for her, she had to put up with a lot, particularly with unwanted attention regarding their relationship when he died.

RIP.

Must have put up with a lot of shenanigans in her time.

Maybe we've gone too hard on Barry.
Maybe he was just mentally cooked.
Or.....is there drug testing in supercars?
Maybe he hit the pot over summer and doesn't want to be tested?
