Ticking off one of the bucket list by going on a houseboat with the girlfriend and 8 mates in March next year. We're leaving from Paringa near Remark, any advice on if we should travel up or down river?

@Bum Crack @Dogwatcher and @OnSong would be the men to ask.

Did one years ago, cracking way to spend some time with the feet up.

From Renmark, just my thoughts, go up river.
Up river from Renmark is Wilkadene Brewery, on a little offshoot creek.
Great beer, great people.

From there, there's plenty of sandbars to park your boat on. There's less boat traffic.

x2 Woolshed Brewery is where it's at. Don't even leave that joint.

Definitely head upstream and go to Wilkadene.

How good is Wilkadene!

There is a couple really good sandbars just downstream from Wilkadene. If it isnt the long weekend you should be a good chance of scoring one of them.

You will never drink anywhere with a better view than the Woolshed Brewery, so I'll add another vote for Wilkadene

Gees, Ronny, those photos are making me all misty-eyed.
Spent many hours on sandbars up there and it's one of the big things I miss, not living in the Riverland any more.

Yeah, I could.
I have spent some time walking through the South Para with my pup.
Not so much fun.
