Cheers lads I'll definitely show her these posts. Hopefully she then understands.

The short answer is i have no idea why she wants to go there.

I'm not that keen on just settling in on a particular place then having to pack and move again as you guys have pointed out. I'm hoping to talk her in to cancelling the pattaya leg of the trip.

If you’re getting a suit fitted & made for you over there, make sure you only buy the jacket.

It’s in Malaysia though not Thailand and is best reached from KL, just a short flight under a hour and for usually under $80.
I love Bangkok and Phuket though, Pattaya I’d give a miss

We did Langkawi for our honeymoon 15 years ago. Perfect if all you want to do is laze around beaches and pools and do the odd sight see in some jungles etc.

I suggested giving Pattaya a miss, But the Mrs is hell bent on going there! Therefore we've dropped Langkawi off the list, Which I wanted to go, could be an anniversary trip. So I have looked in to the golf in Pattaya and looks very inviting. The Mrs had friends go there and they have told her how cheap it was and bang the word 'Cheap' used and she's there! The Mrs is also super keen on the shopping in Bangkok (MBK, Mango and the Markets she has been all over them) so it looks like our 'relaxing chill time' will be in Koh Samui, Before the inlaws and kids join us in Phuket for a bit of a family trip.

we've basically decided on the below; (Although I didn't really care)

Bangkok (2 nights)
Pattaya (3 nights)
Koh Samui (4 nights)
Phuket (8 nights)

logistically need to work out the timing. (High/Low season, Round 1 of the AFL, Easter, Work etc etc) but looking at leaving in the first few days of March.

Showed the Mrs the reply's from you guys on here and Pattaya is now off the list. But now she wants to throw in a Khao Lak or Krabi, to replace the Pattaya stop over, She must like packing and unpacking! She got a very blunt NO!

I'm just going to extend the Koh Samui stay and probably throw in a night on Phi Phi whilst in Phuket.

Couldnt understand the attraction of Krabi when I went there. So many prettier areas around closeby and not much to do there except look at a caveful of dicks (literally). Prefer Phang Na, Phi Phi and just about every island.
Good news about Pattaya, just take your missus down Bangla Rd at night and tell her to 10 times the bars and sleeze and she'll get the gist.

Just seen that a lot of bars will be toning things down for the two weeks I'm there out of respect for the mourning of the King's passing a year ago, itll be interesting to see if things are noticably different then.

Bangla road.... pfftt, that's Sunday School stuff compared to Soi 6 in Pattaya. And that's during broad daylight, I wasn't brave enough to head down there at night!

@carey

Do yourself and favor, get Mrs Carey to sign up to Luxury Escapes and view the deals on offer at this place :

Having been there with a group of 10 in 2016 I could not recommend this place highly enough. Adults only, private villas, just an amazing place to stay.

Had my Honeymoon in Khao Lak and have been back since. A great place to relax and only a 90 minute car ride from Patong Beach.

Anyone been to Phuket in the last couple of years and spent time on the Esplanade?
Last time I was there a bit over 3 years ago a band from the Philippines called The Manilla Machine used to play at an outdoor stage outside the Holiday Inn, me and my mate made great friends with them, I'm hoping they're still there but there's stuff all online about them in the last 6 years.
