NFL Season 2014/2015

Just thought I would make a new thread since the new seasons only about 80 days away.

Lots of happenings at the moment in the NFL world. Teams are currently at OTA's (voluntary practices, which players get monetary bonus's for attending).

Johnny Manziel drafted by Cleveland has been a huge focus by the media. I was hoping the Texans took him at No.1 , but Im happy with Clowney. Cleveland have pretty much put him and Hoyer, their QBs, on media bans, just so there is less distraction while they sort out who is their No. 1 QB.

In Houston, Texans Offensive Tackle, 23 year old David Quessenberry has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He has been put on the Non-football illness list so he can get treatment, and return to the team when able.

In New York, the Jets have a decision to make with having 2nd year Geno Smith, and veteran QB Michael Vick on the list. I think this will be one of the better QB competitions during the preseason. No matter who they decide to go with, I think the Jets will have a better season than last year, due to having some maturity at QB, as well as a decent running game care of new recruit Chris Johnson. I can see a lot of play action and QB option plays being run throughout the season.

In Miami, the bullying investigation came to a conclusion, with Richie Incognito being found responsible, along with other players, of systematically bullying their fellow offensive lineman Jonathon Martin. Incognito is still a free agent, and currently undergoing therapy to get himself right and try to make another NFL roster. Martin on the other hand, was signed by the 49ers, to play under his former college coach Harbaugh.

Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted, was drafted by the St Louis with the 2nd to last pick in the draft. Word is that he's going to do a reality show during the preseason about what it takes to make the final roster. I predict it'll become too much for the Rams, and he won't make the roster. This could also be down to him not being good enough.

Getting keen for the season already. Wish I was in whufc's shoes and going to a game.

Absolutely pumped for this season.

Have never had a 'real' reason to support side other than just picking one for no real reason.

But heading too see a Giants Monday night game has me supporting them (yes its bit of a bandwagon jump but at least my bandwagon has a reason)

Looking forward to seeing Manziel getting on the park, rumours floating around Clevelands number 1 QB could be out injured for a while with Manziel maybe the replacement.

He did an ACL during the last season, so they reckon he'll be "ok". Manziels not bad backup though. Hopefully he plays like he did in college. It would be shot if he ends up like Tebow (who I followed in college too) and end up on the outer due to the media attention more than what he does on the field.

I'm lucky enough to be going to the Patriots @ Jets in December for my first live taste of NFL action.

Can't wait.

From what I've heard I'll need a good jacket!

@valleys07 did a good job last season.

On another note, Im watching last years series of Hard Knocks, with the Bengals. These shows are an awesome insight into what actually goes on inside an NFL team.

Channel 7 announce they are going to air the NFL on 7mate.

3 live games a week, plus a few of the shows that cover the NFL, like Hard Knocks and Americas Game.

So they're taking over from 1 then. But with a couple less games a week.

Last year the only games I saw on OneHD were a week old.

IIRC This Seven arrangement seems very similar to what One did last year - showed three Sunday games live, but I thought in the couple years before that One showed some Thursday and Monday night games too. One definitely showed plenty of repeats over the next week.
Looking forward to some of those other shows too.

The Canadian Football League season started about a week or two ago if anyone's keen to watch some football during the NFL offseason.

I'm still trying to form a connection with one of the teams so I can support someone properly, but its still good to have some gridiron to watch. It's not NFL standard, not even top flight college standard, but still entertaining.

Montreal Alouettes

People are ragging on him for going there. But it was either that, or retire and be one of the clowns on ESPN, or end up in jail...probably gonna end up in jail anyway.

How are the Falcons looking this season HH3?

Havent paid 1 iota of attention to the NFL now that AFL is actually worth a fair bit of interest for me this season!

You blokes picked up the Texans backup QB TJ Yates yesterday. Atlanta gave Houston MLB Akeem Dent. Good for both teams. We offloaded one of our 4 QBs and got a decent starter in Dent, and you blokes got a good backup for Matt Ryan.

You guys also signed MLB Tim Dobbins, also a past Texans player to replace Dent.

Atlanta are also gonna feature in this years series of Hard Knocks. If you've never seen the show, I recommend downloading last years season featuring the Bengals to see what its like. I think the show starts the beginning of August.

Thats about all I know about them so far. Hit up http://www.bleacherreport.com/nfl for all the info. I live on that site.
