RIP Marco Simoncelli

Postby Ian » Sun Oct 23, 2011 8:12 pm

That would have to be one (if not the) worst bike racing accident I've ever seen

Condolences to his family, Team San Carlo Honda and the MotoGP community, another great motor sport personality taken too soon

Very similar to a Moto2 crash that killed a Japanese rider (can't recall his name) recently collected by another competitors bike.

Gun rider, and apparently a gun bloke. Couple of my mates got photos with him last week and had a beer after the race. hopefully it was not too painful way to go, looked pretty bad.

An absolute tragedy, He was just starting to come to grips with MotoGP this season, starting to get finishes in the top 3. 2nd to Stoner last week & gone from the world this week. A real character with all that hair. Jeez, Edwards & Rossi had nowhere to go. Such a shame.
Condolences to Marcos family & friends. His girlfriend and his father were at the track. They must be devastated. R.I.P. #58.

Terrible, terrible loss. A certain superstar of the future.

Just one of those freak accidents that no amount of safety improvement could help.

Not fair, but it's a reminder of just how dangerous bike racing can be.

All racing really. What happened to Wheldon was a freak accident, and I can't remember a bike rider falling towards the inside of the corner very often. Edwards and Rossi would be feeling terrible.

Really really sad.Reminded me of wayne gardner hitting franco uncini. Lucky for wayne and franco they both survived but man franco was lucky as his helmet flew off also. Edwards and Rossi must be gutted poor bastards!! Shit way to end the season even with 1 race to go.
RIP Marco.
