The ducks think you've injured your knee

Seriously though...rotten luck and hope you'll be on the mend very soon.
Maybe you could go through your back catalogue of fish photos and regale us with some tales of past fishing trips to keep us all going until you're fit again :D

ooooooh oooooh oooooh I might have found you something...i's covers the whole 'get a boat' thing and it would take the strain off your knee....if we get you a very small motor on the back or maybe just a paddle or you could attach a rope to the shore and have the kids haul you back in when it's time for tea :D ;)

http://www.orvis.co.uk/store/productcho ... rue&bhcp=1

...and it looks like there's storage for beer...almost makes me want to try fishing again

Micky with that thing I think you would get dizzy as all the dragon boats, kayaks, canoes, rowing boats, yachts, sailboards and other craft go by on West Lakes. I thought it was busy on the shore but at least with the waders you get away a bit, but I would not want to go any further or you would get run down or hit by an oar. To scary for me I like the quiet life. I hope the knee is nothing serious, mine is killing me at the moment with the change in weather.

IGA has Salmon Skinless Fillets for $24.99

For those fishing with a silver hook. (my father used to say that)

A good buy. Medically it keeps my arthritus under control. Nothing else has ever worked.

Combined with the red wine of corse. :partyman: ;)

And the body heat of Mrs_dog_ger who is away at the moment. :(

Visiting family in Swine Flu Sydney...

Anyway fingers crossed next month I see the specialist and latter today I'm allowed out latter today with knee brace on. To try and fish from shore promised not to climb on any rocks or go in the drink .Normally I'd walk but with all those damned rocks by the railway line the wife will drop me off along the river .She even promised to come back for me I hope

As I wrote above I headed down to the Port river .With strict instructions no climbing on rocks or going in the water, yes dear .Well the colour of the water would have put off any one thinking of having a swim with the dolphins lol!
But any way I went off looking for a perch to cast from suddenly realising that North easterly winds are not coming from the correct side to fly fish with.
Oh well so I cast and cast but I didn't even see a tiddler .
Sorry guys that was a waste but I now know there's no way just yet i can wade west lakes for 4 hour stints again .

But never fear banned from tomorrow have to watch the state game but if this wind blows through(pun intended lol! )Sunday afternoon I shall have another go

With the weather not being good for fly fishing .And no way will I wade in West lakes after rain :nono: .Besides it being so damned cold to actually go in the water :nono:
I decided to take my poor wife for a drive to the new BCF shop at Gepps Cross Sunday Morning. For those who bait fish or use Lures/soft plastics they seem to have lots of everything .Not to sure about price as its not my form of fishing anymore. But they certainly had lots of everything and if you have a wife /daughter interested in fishing they had heaps of pink reels and rods.
I did find 1 fly fishing combo priced out of my league (well I paid the same for my rod). When asked the poor shop assistant had to ask and came back with its a queensland company not set up for fly fishing yet .Silly bugger I could have shown him heaps of Salties from qld .
Anyway guys could be worth a look but just remember to do your research online you can get some pretty good prices.

Cheers

Guess it's probably best to steer clear of the water til you've seen that specialist...hopefully that'll mean you'll be back with a vengance in no time at all.

Boy do you know how to show a girl a good time...bet the missus had heaps of fun ;)
Reminds my of all the times my mother would open the fridge door..."hmmm don't remember putting that tupperware box in there????"...uh oh dad and baby bro's comatosed maggots ;)

...and what is it with these damned companies that assume women will only buy stuff if it's bloody pink  ~x( they do it at my local DIY store with power tools now as well...god I dispise pink  Guess I must be weird cos I'd rather buy something cos it does the job well regardless of what colour it is.
