Ohtani really is proving himself to be one that is right out of the box.

His ability in on field is simply second to none, he's got the tools to be an All-Star in any position. His $700m contract is reflective of that.

To then defer $68m per year to allow the organization to build a championship team around him is incredibly selfless.

Part of his deal with New Balance for his glove included 60,000 gloves being sent to 20,000 schools in Japan for students to use.

He is fair dinkum the nicest bloke in world sports.

I reckon I could be a much better person for a billion bucks over 20 years. Many would debate it, but I still reckon I could.

I'm willing to grow too.

His predecessor at the Dodgers is a nice bloke, too. Kershaw and his wife have done a ton of humanitarian work in the US & Africa - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clayton_K ... arian_work

Liam Hendriks and his wife do a lot of charitable work as well.

Won it tonight in a tough 3-1 victory to clinch a 2-1 series victory.

Two in a row.

And the Giants do go back to back.
After Perth won the opener on Friday night 4-3 in the 13th innings the Giants hit back yesterday and won 6-3 before claiming Game 3 tonight 3-1. 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th got the job done

The Chicago White Sox cement themselves as the most unprofessional organization in the Major League. Disgrace.

TA's not doing himself any favours, though, Dodgers dodged a bullet on those rumours.

But Reinsdorf is a cancer, agreed.

The White Sox currently have the worst record in the majors at 3 - 18.

We've scored 45 runs and let in 116. Of runs for the next worst, the Cardinals, have scored 76.

Our offence is offensive to me.

2 runs per game is what you need when you have prime-Kershaw pitching for you. Chisox don't have that, unfortunately

The 2024 Chicago White Sox are the first team in MLB history to be shut out 8 times in their first 22 games.

The White Sox are 8-27 with a - 88 run differential, the worst in the majors by 11 ( Rockies -77 ).

At this stage 109 losses are forecast.

Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani looks like his USD$700 M contract is a bit unders.

First in the Majors in hits, batting average, doubles, home runs, total bases, slugging % & OPS.

Second in runs, on base %, and wins above replacement (WAR).

Sixth for RBIs, and ninth for steals. All this and he's 8 months post elbow reconstruction...
