the suprise packet so far would have to be Adelaide and the unexpected wins they have got. Biggest dispointment would be West Torrens and Henley and grange both not showing much improvement with young squads. Best sides so far would be Port Adelaide, Sturts (pitching), goodwood, glenelg and kensington.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Interesting observation considering they are 10th at the moment....Sturt have also struggled a bit since Mildy has gone to the Bite. Plenty of teams in that situation though which gives all teams a chance every week.

Yes Goodwood have Fidge, Wigmore and Welch, 3 big ones missing when the Bite are away.

Kensignton do have murphy, ruzic and ewart so have pitching depth. Sturt have Mildren and becker also heard a whisper hutton has been rolling it over.

interesting result from the weekend.

Henley and Grange Kniocking off Woodville. also got told Adelaide bite 2nd baseman Smith got ejected. will this make him miss games for the bite.

Adelaide come back to earth with West Torrens smashing them

Your certainly right Schimma, a few very interesting results around the place. Talk was Woodville were pretty happy with themselves about being on top but you cant get too far ahead of yourself in this league. Not sure if Smith will miss ABL games or not. Possibly like SANFL and games transfer across leagues.

Apparently West Torrens Korean import dropped 2 bombs on Adelaide and looks legit.

Big weekend of games this sat with the Bite players all away. Should make for some interesting results. No easy games you could say except for Norths. ET and HG are 11th and 12th but both can get you on their day as both have good import arms.

You might be more in the know Schimma but have heard a rumour that HG Import Baca might be heading home soon??? Any knowledge of this.

Well, at the ripe old age of 35 I played my first ever ball game last Saturday.

Div 8 for Port against the Venezuelan team from Henley & Grange. 1st at bat, hit to right field and to first. Made my way home, how easy is this?

2nd at bat, ground ball to right field, off to first again. Sideout when on second.

3rd at bat with a 2 and 1 count, held the nerve to see off 3 balls for the walk....nice. On third when side out.

4th at bat. Swing at a tight one over the inside of the plate, high on the bat ( ouch ! ) to second and get fired at first on a double play.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Dissapointing result for the Bite over in Perth on the weekend (was lucky enough to go over to WA)

Div 1 games were postponed for the ALB Final with Adelaide participating but with that now over, the local players will now return to action for their Div1 clubs...

Should be some good games coming up in the lead up to finals...

Went down and watched game 2 of the Div 1 ABL Grand Final down at the Bay today between last year's Premier Kensington and minor round pace setters Glenelg.

Game 1 yesterday was apparently a thriller with Glenelg taking a 3-0 lead into the 9th inning before Kensington pinched the win in the last at bat to claim the 4-3 win.

Today, Kensington won game 2 with a 2-1 scoreline to claim the Premiership and go back to back with consecutive Div 1 SAABL titles...

Well done to the Cardinals and to pitcher Nick Talbot who won the Finals MVP award.

No doubt SDK will be pleased tonight :D

The Kensington Baseball Club are back to back Premiers with a typical never say die, gutsy performance against a strong Glenelg outfit rarely beaten all year.

Game 1 : Down 0 -3 in the 9th innings Angus Bills still eligible for Under 18's hits a triple to score 3 runs and and win the game 4 - 3.
Game 2 : Our number 2 pitcher can not pitch due to injury, our " third stringer " " Talbo" against best scenario expectations produces a gem to go 9 innings and we win 2 - 1 to snatch yet another flag from the Bays. Like father like son Scotty Gladstone smacks a hit to score 2 runs in the clutch to put us in front in the 4th and we defended that lead to produce yet more pandemonium at the expensense of the yellow custard tops wearers!

Was a great game of baseball to watch tis afternoon, no doubt sweet for SDK to watch...

Again, want to make mention of the great pitching performance by Nick Talbot from Kensington. To be a 3rd string pitcher and chuck a 9 inning game in such a clutch game is thoroughly deserving of the MVP honours that were bestowed upon him today.

Well done Cardinals, enjoy the celebrations again SDK ;)

Kensington also won Div 2 last week. Their Div 2 coach, Sean Bird, also played in this year's (and last year's) Div 1 Premiership. Big couple of weeks for him and with him likely to retire from playing Div 1, that's a fair send-off for one of SA's better catchers in recent years. Has a promising coaching career ahead of him I reckon.
