We were terrible, didn't deserve to nick a draw at the end.
Can't understand why we didn't take a full strength side up there or why Lallana came off early.

I didn't realise you were a Saints fan Spargo
Strong connection to the Clarets over the last few years. Jay Rod is a Burnley boy through and through, but you also have Danny Fox, Jack Cork who also played for the Clarets, Nathan Dyer who was at Burnley for a year and Richard Chaplow who came through the ranks at Turf Moor, like Jay, and was good mates width my son :D
I really like Soton. I like the way they do business and the way they play football. Great club for bringing in, or through, good young talent. A lot to admire

Dont you guys ever whinge about Howard Webb again.
Another game he bottled, Liverpool should have had a second pen and Arsenal reduced to 10 men. I think Suarez's diving reputatuon came home to roost
Be interesting to see if Shiteh and Arsenal are kept apart in the semis should they both win, have a feeling that Arsenals trophy drought will be broken this year.

Someone who's played this game before please explain to me why Suarez felt the need to add another dramatic roll to Ox's bump. Cost them a penalty. Did you watch the game Jim? You telling me Gerrard didn't deserve a second yellow? I stopped watching after 70 the stream was giving me the shits.

As I said there is no need for his play acting, it cost them another penalty.
Definately a penalty but Suarez does make a terrible meal of it.
Gerrard should of been sent off, Webb had a nightmare game

I haven't seen it, but all this talk of a player making a meal of it is rubbish .. It's either a penalty or it isn't! (and I'm not saying this about last nights game per se, it applies to every game)

Definate penalty, contact in the box.
But I think MH's point is correct, Suarez was contacted and it caused him to trip and fall but what everyone hates seeing is him not just going to ground but doing a army commando roll and play it up even more. I have no doubt his theatrical acting for the first one influenced the decision regarding the second that was turned down

For sure I don't disagree with any of that, and Suarez in particular has a tendency for it (although he's no orphan there). What I meant to say is that a decision to award a penalty SHOULD be made purely on whether a player was fouled in the box. The better way to get it more accurate is to be stronger with penalizing players who have taken a dive IMHO.

I'd say the same about Aussie Rules .. If a player gets his shirt grabbed and throws his arms out, it should still be a free kick.
