If it's a Australian show/paper they usually convert the fee from whatever currency it is into Australian dollars.

So 17.5 mill GBP is roughly 36 mill AUD so round it to 40 mill to make it sound good !!

Similar to Ronaldo. The Advertiser reported that he moved to Real for $162 mill when it was 80 mill GBP....

Peter Crouch signs £70,000 a week Spurs deal as Darren Bent packs his man bag for Sunderland
Peter Crouch turned up at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground today - almost tripping over the guy he is replacing.
With Darren Bent heading for Sunderland in a deal worth about £14million, the England striker left Spurs' Chigwell base with a black bin liner after presumably clearing out his locker. Crouch, 28, arrived dressed with a smart shirt tucked into his jeans ready to pose with his new shirt following a £9m return to the club from Portsmouth.

Manchester City have signed Kolo Toure from Arsenal on a four-year deal.

The 28-year-old defender has completed his switch to the Citizens in a deal thought to cost the club up to £16million.

Toure successfully came through a medical and arranged a severance package with Arsenal to become the second Gunners player to move to Eastlands this summer, following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Toure made 225 appearances for Arsenal, in a Premier League career which has spanned seven years.

HULL COMPLETE DOUBLE SWOOP

Hull have completed the double signings of Seyi Olofinjana from Stoke and USA striker Jozy Altidore.

Midfielder Olofinjana has joined on a four-year contract for a £3million fee with Altidore arriving on a season-long loan from Villarreal, subject to a work permit.

Altidore could be a very good pick up for the Tigers.

WIGAN SEAL SINCLAIR LOAN

Wigan have confirmed the signing of Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old remains a highly-rated prospect as he joins his sixth different club on loan from Chelsea, and gets his first crack at regular Premier League football.

BURNLEY SWOOP FOR GUERRERO

Burnley have signed Fernando Guerrero on a season-long loan deal from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle.

Manager Owen Coyle has the option to make the 19-year-old winger's move permanent at the end of the campaign.

Coyle had been tracking Guerrero after watching the teenager in action for Real Madrid's reserve side, Real Madrid Castilla.

Very happy with this signing. Will be a very good player for Burnley, if he can cope with the weather
