I think that was more to do with the standard of the game, the first half was absolutely horrendous from both sides.

Like most big stadiums when there buzzing they make absolutely amazing atmosphere as did the 'bubbles' song yesterday but also when there is lulls in games they really lack atmosphere.

Tottenham will find out the same when they move stadiums soon.

Think you might have lost that huge advantage you had at home though. Players were always a little intimidated going to the Boleyn

2/2 in competitive games at the newbie lol

But yeah you could be right

In saying that the Daves believe we will have 65k season ticket holders next season which is very impressive

We currently have more season ticket holders than Tottenham can fit in their stadium lol

I assume you mean our current stadium as the new stadium will be virtually the same as the Olympic Stadium? That's fair enough as there's a gaping hole in it at the moment for the new development.
I doubt at our new stadium we'll have the same amount of empty seats West Ham had last weekend, we might get a few to Wembley when we play there this season too. ;)

I'm glad we missed out on the Olympic stadium mainly due to our insistence the stadium be reconfigured to bring the fans closer. West Ham might be regretting they didn't demand similar, soon if not already.

Once we sell 65k season tickets which is expected next season the ground is being reconfigured so temp seating can be placed over the running track.

Apparently there isn't a single bad seat in the house.

We got 57 thousand to the Bournmouth game that's a pretty good effort

I think Tottenham may have some atmosphere issues at the new stadium as white hart lane is far from being renowned as a 'rocking' atmosphere and from history the larger stadiums make the atmosphere harder to create

Our new stadium is being specifically designed so there will be no issues, same location, same heart.
Wembley this season will be interesting but we've already sold more tickets than the Olympic stadium can hold forever three champions league matches.
Saw these pics online, not a good look, heaps of complaints about the atmosphere from Hammer fans.

Why does a stadium reduce its capacity if people stand? I thought you'd fit more people in if they stood?
Is it just an overreaction for safety reasons due to past happenings?

Yeah that's exactly right, due to previous tragidies 'standing' areas are essentially frowned upon and if clubs choose to have them they have to comply to stricter safety rules as well as wear a financial hit from less tickets being sold

We got 57k against Bournemouth

Our old stadium only held 35k regardless of whether there was empty seats or not the financial impact this will have on our club plus the ridiculous great financial deal we secured for the venue will hold us in good stead for years to come

Also from what I saw on a map it's not that far between the old ground and the new. In fact I stayed not far from the Olympic Stadium in an Airbnb flat last year. Some cracking pubs in the back streets around there.

At least Europa won't be interrupting West Hams season, knocked out in the qualifier this morning.

Spurs 1 Liverpool 1

Liverpool probably unlucky not to win 2 or 3-1.
Never thought I'd say this but Vorm MOTM for me.

I'm worried about Spurs speed, Liverpool made us look slow and despite us being the youngest club were far from the quickest. It's why I would have held onto Townsend , I liked his pace.

Typical, just turned the game on and it's half time. Man City dominating.
City 2 United 1

I've got a feeling I'll be sleeping through the Spurs game tonight as I'm already in bed.

City giving us a lesson in passing.
Luckily Bravo had a howler late in the half to gift Ibra a goal

London Stadium working a treat for West Ham. They were 2 nil up and are 4-2 down to Watford now!
Spurs 4-0 up on Stoke, I'm going to bed as I think we have it won and I'm stuffed!
