A-League Previews Rd 3 09/10

Postby Wedgie » Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:29 pm

Looks like a great round, can't wait for the Central Coast v Sydney match. Got confused earlier in the week as there was a headline having a go at the "Coasters", I thought WTF have Central Coast done now only to realise they were talkinga aboug Gold Coast! Pity the AU game is on Friday night as there's a few who would have normally have gone who will be at Norwood Oval.

Hyundai A-League Round 3 Preview

It’s Round 3 of the Hyundai A-League already. Last week saw another milestone reached with Carlos Hernandez scoring the 1000th Hyundai A-League goal. This week crowd numbers will reach 5,000,000 for all-time Hyundai A-League attendance. To celebrate this milestone Football Federation Australia (FFA) is giving the 5,000,000th Hyundai A-league attendee tickets for 2 to catch the Qantas Socceroos take on Oman in their must-win AFC Asian Cup qualifier at Etihad Stadium on 14 October.

This is the Official Preview for the Hyundai A-League Round 3. Please note squads are subject to change.

Stats, Facts & Milestones

As a relatively new competition, building from the ground up, 5 million spectators in less than five years is a cause for celebration.

The 12,161st spectator to make it to match day in Round 3 is all it will take to record the 5,000,000th attendee to the Hyundai A-League. 4,987,839 fans have already attended a Hyundai A-League fixture to date and the 5,000,000 mark will be eclipsed this coming weekend.

With 34 goals in just 2 rounds, including another milestone with Carlos Hernandez scoring the Hyundai A-League’s 1000th goal, the Hyundai A-League will heat up even further in Round 3 with Perth Glory to host their first home match versus Newcastle Jets, Wellington Phoenix crossing the Tasman to face the Brisbane Roar, the Hyundai A-League's best credentialled team, Adelaide United, taking on league leaders Gold Coast United and Sydney heading to Gosford to face the Mariners.

We could only hope, unfortuantly Vidmar is about as set as verbeek in his way we will be playing a 4 -2 -3 -1 like we always do, then I think we should have llyod as the man up front and cristiano playing as the 2nd striker and dodd on the wing or back on the midfiled.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Owusu will start on the bench I'd imagine. If we are chasing a goal I hope he doesn't take Cristiano off and replace him with Owusu...
