Lol you'd rather play St. Albans than reigning A-League champions Brisbane, or Bentleigh instead of Central Coast?

All I'm saying is given a team a home ground advantage solely based on tv ratings in a grand final in a sport where history has proven home ground advantage is massive makes the competition integrity look very second rate

It's not Adelaides fault they were given a home final

I understand why the FFA have done it but we now have a cup where the draw is manipulated to make sure semi pros make the semi finals and they decide cup final home advantage on tv ratings, as it stands the Foxtel cup has more credibility than this cup

Also funny how barely a couple thousand showed up to the round matches of the FFA cup and now that United have won it the comp is all a sudden something special

Amateurs you could run rings around and not break a sweat? Me too.

#youuuuuureddddssss!!! ;)

Thats what WSW thought when they came to play Adelaide City too

#YouOnlySingWhenYou'reWinning

Maybe, but there were 10 A-League v semi-pro matches, and only one was won by the semi-pros.

Unlike European football where there isn't a huge financial gap between division player payments (except for the top end) and the fact they are at least all pros.

The FFA cup will NEVER EVER have an semi pro side in the semi without fixture manipulation

No. A League clubs are the equivalent of AFL clubs. The Foxtel Cup was for state league clubs.

Well obviously, but not sure how that is relevant though.

I just mean this comp can't be compared to the Foxtel Cup as it's different comp with a different purpose

Serious question, if the final was in Perth, how many AUFC supporters would have made the journey west?

They got a few hundred at least to the A-League GFs in Melbourne, so on that basis probably a couple of hundred.

Would hope they could take more than a few hundred to Melbourne for a gf.

I just ask because I've never seen more than maybe a dozen at a game over west

Adelaide gets decent away support in Melbourne and Sydney but you are correct that not many travel to Perth.
People from the West are used to travelling so it doesnt seem to bother them as much, the footy is the same, I probably have attended a couple of hundred Essendon games interstate but have only seen them in Perth four times, just too cost and time prohibitive to get over there

Pretty certain it'd be pretty massive if Victory had won it. Could you imagine the sounds coming out of Melbourne?

i guess people find something to whinge about. Good crowd for the final, more exposure for the sport. First year doing it,, obviously there will be some hiccups...

Drama for the sake of drama...that's what the world is coming to mate. We just have to get used to it.

Or AFL fans are use to their comp losing its integrity for the chase of coin and tv exposure, doesn't mean every other sport has to

Soccer has always prided itself on the fact that all league and cups are an equally even co test with every team given the same opportunities

I would hate to see the FFA go down the same path as the AFL
