Captaincy?

Postby Media Park » Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:56 am

The every week question, who will be your skipper???

If you've got an Ablett or Swan type, you may hit C at the start of the year, and never look back, but how about those who went without the big two guns, Do you look at which sides are playing the weaker opponents (GCS, GWS, Port) and hit up a captain against them?

Round 1: Boyd (DT), Hayes (SC)

If you haven't got one of the 'perma captains' in Ablett or Pendlebury then already your team is in trouble. I went Dale Thomas instead of Pendlebury so that makes Gazza my perma captain.

MP, I'd be getting one of Ablett or Pendles into your team. You need a perma-captain option.

With a midfield of Ablett, Murphy, Selwood, Boyd, Thomas and Watson i have plenty of choices but i think i will lock either Ablett or Selwood in all year.

Already stuffed up by naming Mumford C instead of V to utilise the loophole.

I am not afraid to change captain every week.

i've got both Pendlez and Ablett, between the two will be my captains for most of the year.

but as squids just said, i'm also not afraid to go someone different. in instances like Hawthorn playing against GWS or GC, i'd probably chuck Buddy the captaincy and hope for a bag. ya win some, ya lose some.

For those changing their captains on a regular basis I hope you all have plenty of bandages in your team's first aid kit. You're going to get burnt.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you there, find a consistent high scorer and stick with him, you'll cop the odd lowish score but you'll wanna kick your own arse when you get off Swan and he returns a 180 or something similar.

Drew Petrie plays GWS, he's either going to get 80 or 150.
I'll cop the doubled 80 for the chance at the 300 score.

I've gone for Hayes this week. Probably have Ablett most other weeks.

Hayes is a bad option in my opinion.....he is a chance to either be the sub or get subbed off, due to the fact I think they may want to nurse him through early.

And the fact he has had a year off and got knocked out during the pre season.
