Hogg Division I 2010

Postby Rik E Boy » Mon Mar 15, 2010 12:25 pm

HOGG DIVISION I 2010 (*)

Hogg Division I has been filled. Here is a list of the teams in alphabetical order (Coaches in brackets).

Captain Who? (Groover, safooty.net)
cobras (Dale, Qld)
CoverKing's Army (CoverKing, safooty.net)
Dutchys Dodos (Dutchy, safooty.net)
Hondominators YSCC (Hondo, safooty.net)
It Hurts so Bad (Blue Boy, safooty.net)
Leisa's Lovelies (Leisa, Qld)
LKIF (smiddaz, Tas)
Matty's Knights (Greg Champion, Vic)
Mosquitos (hawksrule, Vic)
Pickles PA (Pickles PA, WA)
Supre Cil Dlouhs (SCD, safooty.net)
The Browns (Mark Rosenberg, SA)
Woodys Dropkick (Woody, Vic)
WYCBLOODS (WYCBLOODS, safooty.net)
z? (The Jack, safooty.net)

Last year Hogg Division I underperformed quite badly with the bottom five teams not really putting up much of an effort. This season will mark the first occaison where Hogg Div I might actually be worth it's rating. Hogg I contains last year's Hogg Div II and Hogg Div III winners as well as Groover and Woody who are all expected to challenge strongly. Last year this league ranked in the 11,000's. This year that rating will be much higher so that spells a much tougher years for those coaches who are playing in Hogg I for the second successive year.

Im predicting another prelim spot for CoverKing's Army this year! Hopefully not running into a rampaging side that scores 2200+ in the prelim to beat me by 100 points again!!

WYCBloods to come rock bottom

I don't know enough about all of the coaches in Div I but I reckon yourself, Groover and Woody will be the ones aiming for Hogg Premier next year. CoverKing no chance.

I simply gave up 4 games last year, to be primed for finals. I then hit my straps and was damn unlucky to miss the GF

Heh heh. Just like shelling peas CoverKing. I just saw Mrs REB's team and I reckon I might be looking for a Hogg Division I captain next season. Maybe CoverKing can fill the role.

CoverKing was talking up his prospects today   . I suspect he will be in the middle of the pack this year.

Who should win this division REB?

Who should win this division REB?

I believe the two that will be in Hogg Premier next year will be Woody and Hondo based on last year's form at least. Greg Champion came from nowhere to defeat Woody in Hogg III last season and Groover also had a very good season as well and will also be a threat. LKIF will be about the place as will The Mosquitos. Middle of the pack sounds about right for CoverKing only because this year's comp will be a lot tougher than last years - he could improve but fall down the ladder.

Either way it's a good thing for Hogg Premier to finally have a decent Divvy I to keep the heat on. I reckon Divvy II is not too bad this year as well.

ROUND ONE
League rank 2475

1 Mosquitoes 2,431
2 Matty's Knights 2,284
3 LKIF 2,275
4 Woodys Dropkick 2,241
5 Hondominators YSCC 2,237
6 Captain Who? 2,226
7 Leisa's Lovelies 2,186
8 The Browns 2,154

9 CoverKing's Army 2,067
10 The Dark Knights 2,006
11 Supre Cil Dluohs 1,987
12 Dutchys Dodos 1,964
13 wycbloods 1,948
14 cobras 1,793
15 Blue Boy 1,427
16 PicklesPA 1,262

Blue Boy and Pickles PA let the side down here with some low scores in a week where nearly everyone in SC land racked up the points. Despite their efforts Hogg I is ranked a respectable 2475, which is about 9000 places up on last year's model. The Mozzies have flown straight to the top of the Hogg ranking with a truly impressive score in the first round.

Happy with my score. Newman only got 16, Gumbleton 18 and Gray didn't play. Also had Barlow on the pine in the middle  .

FWIW I actually scored 2264 but for some reason it's showing as 2237 on the league table. Anyone else have this problem? I have emailed the help section about it.

EDIT: oh, they've fixed it now I see

Barlow on the pine for me aswell! Thought i had him on the ground instead of Trengove but obviously made the blunder!

Im rather happy with mine. I took the punt and didnt have Ablett as my skipper. Chappy was my skipper and only scored 188 with the double points.

With Fremantle playing Essendon next week, can Barlow rack up the score again? He will get more attention thats for sure.

Im just looking forward to peaking at the right time of the year again REB ;)

you would think a lot of people would be adding him in to their team hoping that he will have another cracker.

ROUND TWO
League Rank 3620

1 Mosquitoes 4,697
2 Woodys Dropkick 4,587
3 LKIF 4,530
4 Matty's Knights 4,441
5 Hondominators YSCC 4,358
6 Captain Who? 4,312
7 CoverKing's Army 4,140
8 wycbloods 4,136

9 Leisa's Lovelies 4,063
10 The Dark Knights 4,010
11 The Browns 4,004
12 Supre Cil Dluohs 3,892
13 cobras 3,792
14 Dutchys Dodos 3,699
15 Blue Boy 2,648
16 PicklesPA 2,353

With four coaches averaging over 2200 a week getting promotion to Hogg Premier is going to be a tough ask. Woody and the Mozzies look to be gun teams here. Like Hogg Premier, 2000 a week just won't cut it. This league dropped some ranking spots this week thanks to the efforts of Blue Boy and PicklesPA who is the worst coach in the Hogg.

I would have an extra 200 points if i had chosen Ablett captain each week

Took the punt for Didak as captain as they were playing Melbourne. Score of 54 didnt help.

Cant beleive Ablett got 100+ because i really thought he was selfish, played a carp game and didnt deserve it. Saying this, it proves that he will score 100 plus each week and i wont make the mistake again come the end of the NAB SuperCoach Cup.

Im predicting il take it right up to LKIF.

Wycbloods, to be top by a truck load after round 2, after drawing both the bottom sides in the first two rounds of that minor round!
