Nope. But I've got more shit than a busted dunny. Even the Geelong Cats went better than the REBCats this week. Zero out of four. DOH.

18 Hawkeye 0 4 7831 8738 89.62 0

My mozz on CoverKing worked a treat as Corky won the top of the table clash to maintain his leadership of the Premier League. Richo polled a pretty poor (even worse than Hawkeye) score to be well beaten and he tumbled down the ladder faster than Molly Meldrum. Meanwhile the consistent Has Been smashed the MOSQUITOES who couldn't crack the two thousand mark which is normally curtains in Hogg Premier.

Meanwhile, Q Man got on the board when he won the '**** we better win soon' derby against Poon Army who still has a burger ring in the W column after four rounds and is in deep diggery do. Just like the real cyril, cyrilanddayle only appear to get their shit together once a month and as a result they are one win from four matches after they got cleaned up by the Captain. Hondo is a good team but they made hard work of defeating an improved Hawkeye so Hondo has got the points even though they missed out on the percentage boost that some other sides got out a match up with Woggy.

Buddy Franklin has stormed into the top four on the back of three straight wins and the Buddster is starting to show some very consistent scoring in recent weeks and is on a real roll now. The Spud ressurected their faltering season this week when they accounted for the REBCats who brought down another formerly fit player in Alex Fasalo who is now set to miss a couple of weeks. I've got mothers of the players calling me night and day begging me not to trade in their sons now.

Boring old Underdogs won for a change although it was long odds on Gingernuts getting the job done in that match and you could repeat that comment with Darksiders who got the job done against Squeaky. I haven't mentioned the Longwood Lions much this season, that's because they are crap.

Onwards and upwards next week, unless you blokes have a high-scoring player that I happen to trade in then you are seriously screwed.

Round 5 Previews

Squeakeroos DTC vs. Has Been

Gotta feel for Squeaky a bit here, the draw in Hogg Premier so far has not been kind. It doesn't get any easier for him this week as the Squeakeroos take on the impressive Has Been who boasts an undefeated record in the Premier League. Squeaky will be one of many coaches sweating on McVeigh in the backline after the veteran Swan copped a corked calf but the Swannie website says he's a likely starter. Squeaky jumped on Nick Riewoldt last week and was punished for it and has his Ruckmen facing off against each other which is normally not a good look for scoring. Despite an unbeaten start Has Been still has some worries in the forward line but he's not Mitch Robinson Caruso there this season. My tip - Has Been to win a fifth.

Darksiders SCE vs. Hawkeye

Without going through the records, I'd suggest that Hawkeye hasn't enjoyed a lot of success against Perennial Power the Darkside. Despite an improved effort last week by Woggy, Darksiders are once again one of the contenders to win the Premier League title. Woggy has traded hard and I reckon Darksiders have only traded out Mummy. Hawkeye now has Mummy on the bench with Hale and Sandi on the field and he was one of the poor suckers to jump on Fasalo. Darksiders excellent initial squad should be able to get the job done against a Hawkeye combination that has a diabolical forward line set up. My tip - Darksiders SCE.

MILLER MOSQUITOES vs. Buddy Franklin

The Mozzies are in a bit of trouble now and might be struggling to defeat Hawkeye on current form. Even though it was MILLER time in Elite and Champions last week he had no such luck in the Premier League. Looking at the fearsome strength of the Buddy Franklin outfit, it looks as though MILLER might not be in for much luck this week either. Buddy has hit pay dirt by snaffling Matty Boyd while the rest of us lucked out with Libba and Griffen. It just goes to show how important it is to nail those PODs and Buddy has done well with Boydy. My tip - Buddy Franklin.

Hondo SCC vs. The Ginger Ninjas

This round appears to be a round of mismatches and this match up appears to be no different. While Gingernuts famously defeated Hondo a few years ago it is normally Hondo who gets the points in these clashes. Ginge has been dudded by Fasalo, Merret, Lloyd and Grimes and Vince is still in the line-up. Either that shows incredible faith or incredible stupidity. Hondo's team this year looks steady rather than brilliant but steady will be enough in this match against a struggling Ninjas combination. My tip - Hondo SCC.

Longwood Lions vs. Q Before You

There are youngsters galore and some interesting PODs in the Lions line-up but the outfit as a whole is not clicking just yet. Out of his plethora of PODs only Giant Callan Ward could be said to be paying off with others looking like a bit of mystery. I believe Alaska's time will come but he'll need to get a wriggle on or he could face relegation. Q will have to continue to burn trades to fix that forward line even though the rest of the Q Team looks pretty good overall. With more fantasy relevant players in his side, Q can make it two on the trot. My tip - Q Before You.

Underdogs vs. Richo Richo Man Match of the Round

Now that CoverKing has copped the flogging he so richly deserves, he's claiming that he tanked it. Will he be prepared to do so again? He won't say so now but when he loses to the Underdogs expect this excuse to be trotted out again this time next week. CoverKing will be very worried about Dane Swan on Friday night who would make for a good VC on Friday night against those girls, Carlton. Meanwhile Richo Richo will be well served by Rory Sloane against Melbourne who hasn’t won in Adelaide for well over a decade now. Surely Richo has to trade this week as his forward line is even worse than mine! My tip - Underdogs (which makes Richo a cert!)

Poon Army vs. Captain Who?

Can Drew Petrie dominate the Suns? Will Tom Mitchell return to the Swans line-up? If the answer to both of those questions is yes then the Captain will get the points in this match. Poon is like many other teams in this division, really struggling up forward. Troy has spent too much in the backline and 'saviours' Lloyd and Fasalo have provided very little. Even if Mitchell misses and Petrie doesn't score all that well, Hammo doesn't have the team to punish such a lapse. Get on the Captain. My tip - Captain Who?

Cork in the Ocean vs. REBCats

With my trading every trade has proven to be a shitter. Therefore I'm taking the CoverKing approach and...how did that match turn out last week...oh shit! Yep. I think I'm in trouble here. My tip - Cork in the Ocean to remain unbeaten.

cyrilanddayleshow vs. Spuds

Spuds returned to the winning list last week, a place where cyrilanddayle has spent precious little time this season. bloods is in all sorts of bother if he can scab a win against the Spuds. Last week Spuds cashed in on the back of James Aish but surely the ex-Redleg can't create the same sort of carnage as he did last week. Cyril looks stronger all over the ground and should get the points this week at last. My tip- cyrilanddayleshow.

I had stockpiled $660k before this week so I was happy to sneak the win last week and now bring in some studs to bolster my team.

I can't get going. Free up a bit of cash, but then have to upgrade an injured premium that's dropped in price.

Didn't want to trade this week, so threw Buddy and Fas to the bench and punted on Lloyd and McDonut getting me over the line. And they did...phew.

Got pumped in my other leagues though.

I am so rooted for this first bye week, I don't reckon I'll even bother trying to patch together a win. Throw in the towel this week and hope to trade my way to setting up the rest of the season in the following rounds.

Decided against trading. Got to Sunday, saw McDonald was sub so traded him for swallow and it ended up getting me the win.
Now to some how avoid getting a zero this week and not trade to heavily this week. 25 trades left for me still so hoping I can get through with 20 trades left after bye rounds and still escaping with some wins.

JKH getting triple his projected score, Jaensch and Riewoldt combining for 70 really did kill me against spuds.

I'm just about knackered for this year already.

18 Hawkeye 0 5 10013 11117 90.07 0

Richo Richo won a high quality match of the round when he traded his way to victory over a gallant Underdogs. Both teams topped the 2300 mark but when the dust settled the Dogs were sent under the house and Richo has now advanced to an impressive 4-1 record. Has Been had a second lower than normal scoring week for them but unlike the previous occasion they were punished here as the Squeakeroos ended the Beeners unbeaten Premier League record.

In the undefeated stakes, Cork in the Ocean stands alone as the REBCats were substituted out of the top eight, just like most of my players ACK! After a couple of 'strategic' losses Hondo showed his true colours by smashing The Ginger Ninjas who are now slipping down the ladder. Poon Army opened their account with an important win over the Captain and that should ease Hammo's relegation worries just a bit with so many teams down the arse end of the ladder struggling to get wins this year.

Speaking of arse end, Hawkeye are still winless but appear to have rejoined the comp. Woggy got a respectable score this week but unluckily for him respectable doesn't cut it against the Darksiders who are doing very well in all three Hogg leagues he is in this year. Spuds won their second match in a row at the expense of cyrianddayle and time is starting to run out for bloods to make a mark this season. Reigning premier Q Before You also won their second match in a row against the Longwood Lions who have yet to trouble the scorers this season.

So now Gibb and Gents we enter the dreaded bye period. This is when you have a peek at the fixture and hope you haven't got too many good sides to play while you shuffle the deck chairs. Me? I've got Underdogs, Hondo and Darksiders....see you next season! :(

Round 6 Preview

Hawkeye vs. Squeakeroos DTC

Hawkeye is yet to open his account for the season and has one more player unavailable pre-trading this week than does Squeaky. So this means that Squeakeroos DTC should win this one easily right? Wrong. Hawkeye looks short in the ruck but Squeaky has the missing in Midfield and Defence so I'm tipping Woggy to get off the mark this week. Both would need to trade to gain a decisive advantage and Hawkeye needs the win more more than does Squeaky. My tip - Hawkeye.

Has Been vs. Buddy Franklin MATCH OF THE ROUND

This 2nd vs. 3rd battle has been robbed of much of its lustre as both teams have been smashed not only by the round eight bye but by the unavailability of players such as Langford, Mitchell and Georgiou in the backline. Both of these sides have the same problem but a couple of the missing aren't all that important for Has Been as they are for Buddy. That's why I'm selecting Has Been to return to the winners list at Buddy's expense. My tip - Has Been.

Darksiders SCE vs. The Ginger Ninja

When you are struggling for wins the last thing you need is to play one of the strongest teams during the bye period and this is the fate that has befallen The Ginger Ninjas this week. However, the Darksiders has an incredible 18 players unavailable this week so they might just take the L for this week with the aim of saving trades and going 2-1 in the bye period. Gingernuts could end up with an unlikely win as he is untouched in the midfield and rucks and has two more defenders available as well. Only in the forward line does the Darkside look ahead. I'm going for another upset...My tip - The Ginger Ninjas.

MILLER MOSQUITOES vs. Q Before You

It hasn't been MILLERtime for quite a few weeks now and during that time Q Man has managed to get his faltering premiership defence off the blocks if not back on the rails. This is a match Q can't afford to lose or he'll be back down with the pack with MILLER MOSQUITOES buzzing right by him. Looking at the sides it is a very even matchup indeed but it could be the Rucks that prove decisive in this one. I reckon MILLERS has it a bit better in this area and the points he collects could prove to be very handy. My tip - MILLER MOSQUITOES.

Hondo SCC vs. Richo Richo Man

These two players have built up quite a rivalry over the past few seasons and this one shapes up as a bit of a 'grudge' match. Hondo hasn't been hit quite as hard by the bye and injuries with an additional midfielder and defender taking the field. Richo will be pretty keen to win this match and stay ahead of Hondo on the ladder but I think Hondo will be keen to trade to get an edge on CoverKing. My tip - Hondo SCC.

Longwood Lions vs. Captain Who?

Both of these teams have found it tough this season with Alaska yet to get a handle on Premier League play after a season and five rounds in the comp. Like most teams the Captain has been hit badly in defence but the Lions only have an advantage of one in this area. The players that the Lions do have available don't look like big scorers to me and barring a trading coup I'd suggest that the Captain should salute. My tip - Captain Who?

Underdogs vs. REBCats

In all my years of playing SuperCoach, no team has kicked my arse more often than the Underdogs. But if Port can beat Geelong and the Demons can win in Adelaide I reckon it's time the REBCats arched their back and bared their claws! The reason I'm semi-confident is that Gibbo has got holes all over her side, the kind of holes that three trades just can't field. Only Darksiders have more outs than the Underdogs this week. And while the REBCats are not immune to the Round eight bye, we seem to have more troops on hand for this match. My tip - REBCats.

Poon Army vs. Spuds

The Army opened their account last week and now face the suddenly inform Spuds. Unlike many teams this week both of these outfits remain relatively untouched in the midfield with the Army looking pretty good in this area compared to the rest of the league. The Spuds are well represented in the forward line but this appears to be a misleading stat as the misfiring Dustin Martin is their second highest scoring player on this line. With a numerical and scoring advantage, I reckon the Poon Army can march on. My tip - Poon Army.

Cork in the Ocean vs. cyrilanddayleshow

Corky hasn't put a foot wrong this season and even below full strength appears to have cyril's measure. bloods has been batting well, except he keeps getting out. Cyrilanddayle have had some high scoring losses which means a season of pain at this level while Duds who score bugger all look down on them on the ladder. I can see more heartache for cyrilanddayle this week, it's just as well his football team are smashing everyone because his fantasy side can't win a chook raffle. My tip - Cork in the Ocean.

Cork in the Ocean continued their unbeaten start to the season but in recent weeks it has been the Spuds who are the form team of the competition. The Spuds recorded an impressive 1843 in a week where most of us were experiencing Keystone Cops moments with the Benny Hill soundtrack in the background. The latest casualty to the Spuds was Poon Army who were one of many lower ranked teams who didn't get the job done during the bye week when it seemed that opportunity was knocking.

The table has a lop-sided appearance at the moment with four sides on only one win for the season and Hawkeye, despite recent improvement yet to record a win for the season. Longwood Lions scored a crucial win to open their account this season after won by nearly four hundred points over the Captain who put in a stinker this weekend. The Ginger Ninjas and cyrilanddayleshow are in real danger of relegation with Ginger in particular not really recording the scores needed to threaten anyone. A game behind in last, Hawkeye's scores have been competitive in recent times and he was a bit stiff to cop an on fire Squeakeroos to undeservedly lose by a hundred.

Buddy Franklin won the match of the round and since losing to a bunch of duds in the first round they have now peeled off five straight wins and now look pretty comfortable in the top four. Hondo, REBCats and Sqeakeroos all made a move this week with Hondo in particular looming ominously. Q Before You appear to have their premiership defence back on track with a third straight win which sees them just outside the eight. Joining Q there is Richo Richo who lost the most recent clash in his ongoing battle with Hondo.

Hodge and Lobbe added to the hurt of having S.Mitchell injured, Tom mitchell still AWOL and a few misfiring rookies and my team looks nearly shot!
Thank god there is another week to rectify things, Trades dwindling rapidly...

Round 7 Previews

Squeakeroos DTC vs. Buddy Franklin MATCH OF THE ROUND

Both of these teams have been in fine form recently but Buddy's form shades that of Squeaky with six straight wins propelling them to second on the ladder. Squeaky will be keen to add another scalp to their collection but will need to trade in order to overcome a slight numerical advantage to Buddy. Buddy has one more player available and two more of his available squad average over 80. These numbers are not insurmountable and Squeaky are not without a chance but it appears Buddy has more depth. My tip - Buddy Franklin.

Hawkeye vs. The Ginger Ninjas

These two teams have just the one win between them and this match could be an unofficial relegation playoff even though it is only round 7. Gingernuts doesn't appear to have paid too much attention to his squad this year and it seems that the Premier League is starting to go by him. Hawkeye is hanging on grimly and scored a respectable tally last week despite not being able to get over Squeaky. Ginge has the numerical advantage but the Ninjas can only boast six players with an average of over 100 this week so the top end quality isn't there. Hawkeye looks more likely to trade and will surprisingly open his account in a round when Hawthorn have the bye. My tip - Hawkeye.

Has Been vs. Q Before You

Q Man has burnt plenty of trades trying to get back into this competition and this week he faces top opposition in Has Been who have proven to be a worthy addition to the Premier League ranks this season. Has Been has less on the field than Q Before You but Q has a few players too many who don't average 80. I reckon Buddy Franklin could be the key player in this match. His record against Essendon in the past has been immense and a Buddy bag against his old bunnies will be enough to halt Q's winning run. My tip - Has Been.

Darksiders SCE vs. Richo Richo Man

Even before they hit the T button, The Dark Side has an amazing 23 players available for this match. 15 of these players average over 80 and 11 of them average over 100. No one else in the league can match this set of numbers. Richo meanwhile has the lowest amount of players available even though the quality available is high. CoverKing must work out whether or not he thinks Darkside can be beaten or not or burn a few trades to at least field 18 players to give himself a chance. In my view, Darksiders can't be beaten this week. My tip - Darksiders SCE.

MILLER MOSQUITOES vs. Captain Who?

The MOZZIES have been struggling a bit lately but this week they face a Captain Who combination whose team has been hit by a Cyclone this season. The Captain only has six players available who average a hundred and point scoring has become problematic for the 2012 Champions. MILLERS have ten players who average the ton so the Captain has his work cut out at the selection table if he wants to keep in contact with the top eight. My tip - MILLERS MOSQUITOES.

Hondo SCC vs. REBCats

Hondo and the REBCats have the same amount of troops available this week but Hondo has a clear edge in quality. The backline of the REBCats is reliant on too few and the bye period has been a difficult time for the Cats to put consistent scorers on the park as I rely on the likes of Cutler and Laidler yet again. Hondo's premiership assault has been building steadily in recent weeks and they should be good enough to keep my REBCats out of the top four. My tip - Hondo SCC.

Longwood Lions vs. Spuds

After a low key start to the season, the Spuds are really starting to peel off the victories now. On paper this would appear to be an easy Spuds victory but the numbers stack up reasonably well for Alaska who got on the board last week. The Lions will be keen to trade to get another win but this is another match in which I feel Buddy Franklin could be a key player. In this game it is Spuds who have Buddy and I think the Swans designated driver will be a positive force for those coaches that have him. My tip - Spuds.

Underdogs vs. cyrilanddayleshow

Both of these sides join Q Before You and Captain Who as sides that did really well in 2013 to not set the world on fire so far this season. The Underdogs laid down and curled up next to the fire to allow the Cats to get the points last week and cyrilanddayle didn't fire a shot last week to fall to an unflattering 1-5 record. Besides Buddy, another key factor in this week's round is Collingwood midfielders. I think the Pies midfielders will score pretty well against Adelaide tomorrow night and the Underdogs have the set - Pendles, Swan and Beames. While it didn't help them last week, it will make the Underdogs a formidable foe over the next two bye weeks. My tip - Underdogs.

Poon Army vs. Cork in the Ocean

Corky's perfect season looks set to continue this week against a struggling Poon Army which is well down on 100 points per game players. Corky has four more players who average the ton and this top end quality separates the men from the boys when the byes roll around. Hammo is never happy when I tip him so he'll be happy this time....until I'm proven correct. My tip - Cork in the Ocean.
