Divvy V ring-ins Kiwi Krappers and Straycat Strut impressed in their opening round clashes but remember Fiveys that neither side is eligble to be promoted into Division IV next year. With that in mind the real winners appear to be the HotShots, Brendamage and the King Cobwebs who have started off with percentage building victories to start their year.

Congratulations to big Herbie who won his first Hogg match at his first attempt with his best Hogg score to date. Herb will need to up his scoring though as they'll face tougher opponents than the Wonder Elephants who put up a decent fist of the game. St Brays Saints left it all to do last year in Division VI and missed the finals so scoring a round one win was important for them and as noted above it was Paddy who helped the Sainters get the chocolates. gcc_firm was the lowest scoring team in the comp during the pre-season but they scored enough points when it counted to edge out Loose Husseys.

Robbo's mob also got a win but that is another team who is not eligible for promotion. They defeated an Underbelly side that scored enough points to be invited to Hogg Elite last season but Kels hasn't fired up yet this season so all teams in this division will do well to stay ahead of the Swans.

It was a shocking round in SuperCoach this week with scores down across the land. Unlike other leagues, there were no stand out teams in Division V in the second round and a close look at the results shows that this league is going to be a pretty close one. The Hotshots lead the way so far on the ladder and the Kiwi Krappers lead the way in the scoring but the jury would be out on all teams in this league. WLF dead stiff to get done with 1973 this week as that score would have beaten any other team in the comp last week. Don't you just hate it when that happens.

It's even more annoying when the top side wins with the lowest winning score against the bottom side who pulled a stinker. Step up bretty! Meanwhile the top seed Underdogs recorded their first win of the year and they have snuck in to the top eight while the Kiwi was flogged by the mighty Straycats. Always good to beat the Kiwi.

Heaters' Hotshots won the top of the clash against Straycat Strut but despite one of the HotShots' finest performances they were upstaged by St Bray's Saints who swooped on top spot. In a round where a score over 2100 proved to be competitive the HotShots smashed the Straycats who, like many sides had a bit of a Fyfe problem. Even if I did have a decent skipper though Heater might have had me covered with his excellent score of 2256. The Sainters lead the table after they posted a 340 point over the wooden spoon favourites Loose Husseys. St Brays have never made a Hogg finals series before but they look set to debut in August this year and have a real crack at Division IV and the premiership.

Other teams to make their move were Underbelly who are just warming up, Red Devils who had a good result and Chops Clots who have won their past two matches. The Krappers and Brendamage have lost their way in recent weeks with Brendamage putting in a real clunker to lose to the previously bottom of the harbour razorbacks. White Line Fever have joined the competition a few weeks late with an important win over the Wonder Elephants. This match just had to be won by WLF if they expect to make the finals this year and it's job done on that score.

Big James 'Herbie' Herbert has had a brilliant start to his Hogg career after he knocked the St Brays Saints off the top of the Divvy V ladder this weekend. Herbs is only ranked 11th in scoring and was seeded low but has managed to come out in front four times in four weeks to be unbeaten along with Slobbo who somehow managed to remain unbeaten despite having an inconsistent start to the year.

Another good result for Herb was the HotShots who had their first loss of the season. Chops Clots and Straycat Strut from the chasing pack closed the gap on their top four rivals with solid wins as a result. Kiwi Krappers and Underbelly were expected to dominate in this division but both are clinging to the top eight after gcc_firm pulled off a boilover while the Kiwi had an unconvincing win to square the ledger.

Go Tigers, King Cobwebs and White Line Fever all had good wins but already the bottom four look to be in trouble.

Big Herbie is still unbeaten after seven rounds after he squeaked by White Line Fever to stay on top of the table. Robbo had his first loss when his team was upstaged by Chops Clops. Others to do well this week were The Chicken Coup who are fighting back after a slow start and other teams such as Straycat Strut and Kiwi Krappers returned to top form.

It's been a bust in recent weeks for St Brays Saints as they were overtaken on the ladder by Stewie's Go Tigers who are knocking on the door of the eight with Red Devils and Underbelly keeping them out.

There were a couple of massive results in Divvy V this week. Leading the way was Underbelly with an impressive 2390 which was more than enough to smash White Line Fever's 2239 which is a pretty good score in SuperCoach this week. To get beaten in this league with that score is very stiff indeed. At the other end of the ladder the Loose Husseys opened their account in fine style to complete a good week in SuperCoach for TEX. Meanwhile, Brendan has now slumped to seven straight losses as the wheels have well and truly fallen off.

Stewie's Go Tiges have moved into the top eight after defeating the previously unbeaten Herbs'N'Spices who had been winning games without really racking up the scores. This week Herbie got found out. Robbo cleaned up the Kiwi in another high scoring class and St Brays Saints ended a recent barren run with an important win over top eight rivals Red Devils. HotShots have gone off the boil as they had to bow down to the King Cobwebs and brettsrazorbacks was another struggling team to get four points this weekend.

This leaves Chops Clots as our new ladder leader as they made mincemeat of the Wonder Elephants with a nice little percentage booster.
