Not sure where you are getting your intel from REB.
Last year Croc wrangling and this year swimming with sharks so should only be away Rounds 2 and 3.
Next year will be an issue however as the plan is 7 weeks running with the bulls in Spain and tank wars in the Ukraine, so Fantasy Footy could be a problem.

Too much pressure now REB with this undeserved favouritism :)

There are strong contenders in that list. Q in particular systematically put together a squad much stronger then mine last year and was a well deserved winner.

Groover is very tough to handle year in year out.

No way is CoverKing a bottom 4 side for mine. I think one too many unlucky beaks got the better of him last year.

Yeah you have a wife and 3 kids, but you do nothing with the kids and the wife doesn't let you leave the house so you have plenty of time ☺️

Hogg Premier Round 1

Ladder

1 Has Been 4519
2 Underdogs 4467
3 Darksiders SCE 4453
4 Cork in the Ocean 4408
5 Hondo SCC 4404
6 Captain Who? 4396
7 Squeakeroos DTC 4369
8 Q Before You 4263
9 MILLER MOSQUITOES 4211
10 Richo Richo Man 4208
11 cyrilanddayleshow 4191
12 Poon Army 4187
13 Spuds 4184
14 REBCats 4178
15 The Ginger Ninjas 4160
16 Buddy Franklin 4129
17 Longwood Lions 4084
18 Hawkeye 4003

Fixtures

Squeakeroos DTC v Longwood Lions

Squeaky look stronger here with the Lions appearing to have plenty of youngsters in the squad in order to make money. This makes the Lions a dodgy proposition early on. Both have Sam Mitchell but it would hurt the Lions more if the sniper doesn't get up. My tip - Squeaky.

Underdogs v Hondo SCC

Two of the stronger teams clash here in what looms as one of the matches of the round in the season opener. Gibbo has gone for the Sandi/McIntosh ruck combination which means she has avoided the dreaded Rohan/Impey/JKH triumvirate which is bedevilling the majority of us. Hondo has taken a bold approach with Daisy as mid 4 but he isn't getting the anticipated benefits out of Pav and Franklin. Unless the Pav and Buddy can really ark it up this week I reckon that Gibbo is home here. My tip - Underdogs.

Poon Army v MILLER MOSQUITOES

The Mozzies went from top of the heap to crumpled up in one after a shocker in Round 2. MILLERS were suddenly exposed when Mitchell, Clurey and Laidler opened a bakery and a number of experienced stars failed to fire. Rockliff's report didn't help either. Poon's score was enhanced by some improved performances from Nick Nat, Daisy and POD selection Brandon Ellis. Looking at the sides I reckon MILLERS has a higher scoring potential. My tip - MILLERTIME.

Cork in the Ocean v Darksiders SCE - Match of the Round

Corky has started the season in fine style and the Darksiders, are well, the Darksiders. With both sides in the top four for scoring the Darkside has pulled a bad time to play Corky who isn't normally this hot. The Darksiders appear to be keeping their powder dry at this stage of the season but ominously they are still scoring heavily. They've gone in with an intriguing Hickey/Sandi ruck combo and there are bargain basement selections all over the ground which have so far paid off. i reckon the Darkside should salute In what should be an absolute Corker (ha ha). My tip - The Darkside.

cyrilanddayleshow v Has Been

Not for the first time we've got a Divvy I team that has come in and put the runs on the board early. The Beeners are top of the heap after two rounds after some impressive scoring so far this season. Cyril looks to be in a bit of bother with his GNR mids strategy because that forward line is a real lemon. The Beeners look too solid in the middle. My tip - Has Been.

Spuds v Hawkeye

Woggy has been in the Premier League since 2008 but already he looks like he's in more trouble than the early settlers, but is still going better than Paul Roos at least. Despite jagging one of the better PODs in Matt Thomas, Hawkeye looks very fragile at the back. It is this area where the Spuds have spent their money and with Ffye out as well for Hawkeye, it's hard to see anything other than a Spuds victory. My tip - Spuds.

Buddy Franklin v REBCats

My team blows and hasn't scored any points for two weeks. Neither has Buddy though so this one is the cripple fight of the week in Hogg Premier. Can't see myself winning it at the moment, my team looks like a crumpet and not the kind you scruff. My tip - Buddy Franklin.

Captain Who? v The Ginger Ninjas

Gingernuts has improved his standing early this season but the Captain is always a tough a opponent. It was Dane Zorko to the rescue for the Captain last week but he really needs Swan to start scoring and for Hawks Hodge and Mitchell to suit up, which looks unlikely. Its never good when your PODS don't work either and Clinton Young is a somewhat baffling selection. So the Captain looks a bit vulnerable. Problem is, Ginge has too many mid pricers scoring like mid pricers and he'll be hoping that Matty Crouch replaces his brother. Too many Blackbirds sees me leaning towards the more seasoned Captain. My tip - Captain Who.

Richo Richo Man v Q Before You

After my pre-season sledge Richo has come out swinging but only half of the ground he lost last year has been recovered. In other news, Q apparently has selected Viv Michie ahead of Dom Tyson thank you another scoop from REB. Three guns in the backline and a solid midfield can't cover the steaming Cow Pat that is the Richo forwardline so Q looks to have Cover King, um, Covered. My tip - Q.

Here we go again folks!

Ladder

2 Cork in the Ocean 1 0 2369 2242 105.66 4
3 Captain Who? 1 0 2174 2088 104.12 4
4 MILLER MOSQUITOES 1 0 2245 2182 102.89 4
5 Richo Richo Man 1 0 2276 2221 102.48 4
6 Underdogs 1 0 2314 2259 102.43 4
7 Squeakeroos DTC 1 0 2175 2131 102.06 4
8 Has Been 1 0 2286 2258 101.24 4

9 REBCats 1 0 2225 2217 100.36 4
10 Buddy Franklin 0 1 2217 2225 99.64 0
11 cyrilanddaleshow 0 1 2258 2286 98.78 0
12 Longwood Lions 0 1 2131 2175 97.98 0
13 Hondo SCC 0 1 2259 2314 97.62 0
14 Q Before You 0 1 2221 2276 97.58 0
15 Poon Army 0 1 2182 2245 97.19 0
16 The Ginger Ninjas 0 1 2088 2174 96.04 0
17 Darksiders SCE 0 1 2242 2369 94.64 0
18 Hawkeye 0 1 1964 2231 88.03 0

The scoring was down a little in the Premier League with no one cracking the 2400 mark in this league and Woggy failing to top the 2000 mark. Woggy is already looking like the easybeat this season averaging less than 2000 a week which won't cut it at this level. Cork in the Ocean continued his hot start to the season by smashing league powerhouse Darksiders all the way down to second last on the ladder. Corky's 2369 would have beaten anyone in Premier this week and the Darkside was the unlucky team to cop the top scorer for the round.

Gibbo's Underdogs also posted over 2300 as they consigned Hondo to a stuttering start to their 2014 Hogg Campaign despite the fact he carded a more than respectable 2259. My REBCats and Buddy Franklin had the close one of the round as the Cats snuck home by eight points after I brilliantly traded out Duncan for Zorko to make a game of it.

Has Been and Richo had high scoring wins but spare a thought for Q 'I hate Walters' Before You who scored 2221 to lose and cyrilanddayle were a bit stiff to lose after scoring 2258.

I was tossing up between Ellis at home and Dunstan away as to who to have on the field and went with Ellis.

Cost me the game against Has Been.
