Bunny Bowl history was made this week when Strawb (Mustangs) and Thiele both won in the same round. The Mustangs have been showing signs of improvement recently and they were this week rewarded with an upset win over Division I stayers cobras who unfortunately does not post on this site which limits the opportunities for Strawb to take the piss.

TSG rubbed his hands together with glee when invited to the Bunny and The Nutkickers' early season form is looking ominous as he disposed of FOOTYLEDGENS, knocking the Cub off the top of the ladder in a high quality contest. The Joker's Raging Hooligans are having their best Bunny Bowl season as well and they are unbeaten and are the new ladder leaders.

This year's Bunny Bowl is all about who is going to beat the Nutkickers and for most of the year it looks like my lads FOOTYLEDGENS and Team LEO along with Moe's Onegameatatimers were looking the likely challengers. However, in recent weeks a new contender has emerged in bretts razorbacks who scored a razorbacks record score of 2336 which must have been noticed by the Nutkickers.

Some of the top eight sides had reversals last week as bretts razorbacks replaced his brother Dale's cobras and Raging Hooligans went down for the second week running in an upset loss to iSwitCh. SpiDaBitES also defeated a top eight side with a solid win over Jackstars. In recent weeks Thiele Crows have managed to find some improved point scoring and they are now 13th on the ladder after knocking off Joes GIANTS who are where Thiele was last season and where Eags and Strawbs' Mustangs refuse to move from despite many years at Bunny level.

Nutkickers remain the side the beat but the Bunny might not be the one horse race it appeared when they accounted for FOOTYLEDGENS quite comfortably earlier in the season.

The Kiwi went out pig shooting on the weekend and brought down the charging razorbacks who must be scratching himself wondering how he lost in the Bunny Bowl after racking up 2205 on the weekend. Brett's good form continued but it wasn't good enough to lay a tusk on the Kiwi who pulled out a corker to establish himself as another possible candidate for the Bunny Bowl premiership this season.

Nutkickers assumed the league leadership after Thiele turned back the clock to last season with a sub 1500 score that gave the kickers a healthy percentage boost courtesy of the 897 point victory. Young LEO beat his uncle cobras to have them suffer back to back losses but the Raging Hooligans showed that they were the joker in the pack by arresting a mini slump and consolidating their postion in the final eight. Moe had an even bigger win than the Nutkickers as Onegameatatimers won by a massive 985 points, which is not however enough for the gamers to sit inside the top four just yet thanks to FOOTYLEDGENS spraying the Spideys.

The Sambuccas and the Lovelies have yet to win a game but looking at their points for they both look likely to account for Mighty Eags who look like ending up with the one win for the year.

This league is nearly all over bar the shouting with seven of the top eight looking pretty safe despite a disasterous effort by Raging Hooligans this week. Jackstars are the team in the eight that I reckon won't make it and I reckon Dale's cobras from Divvy I will take that last finals spot.

This week was significant in the fact that some teams that don't win very often broke through for a victory. Sambuccas, Joes GIANTS, Mustangs and Leisa's Lovelies are all struggling combinations that managed to crack it for a rare victory. The best thing about this is that no matter how poor you are you, you should still be able to win at least one match in the Bunny Bowl, alhtough for some, that is all they get.

Nutkickers have gone two games clear at the top of the Bunny Bowl after posting a 45 point win over an unlucky iSwiTch. FOOTYLEDGENS were defeated by two points by his Uncle Brett. That's the second time the Uncle has had bragging rights over the Cub. The Kiwi Krappers are sitting pretty in the top four with just the two losses and they have been joined by Onegameatatimers (had to mention him or he'll whinge LOL) who recorded an excellent win against Division I opposition cobras.

Leisa's Lovelies and Joes GIANTS are two strugglers that managed to win games but already the top eight have cleared out by two matches so it might be tough for any of the bottom ten to make an impact on the Bunny Bowl this year.

Nutkickers' triumphant march has gone on for a 12th straight win in the Bunny Bowl with the Spideys no match for the premiership favourite. Despite the win loss record though this comp is not a one horse race with six teams looking likely to compete for premiership and HCL honours at the end of the year. Inside the top eight but looking vulnerable are Raging Hooligans and Jackstars but only cobras looks a likely replacement with Spideys down probably gone for the season. However, the cobras are having difficulty stringing wins together so a top eight appearance would be about as brief as Casey Donovan's singing career.

It was one of those rare weeks in which some duddy teams racked up a win on the same week with Sambuccas, Thiele Crows and Mustangs all winning this week. The win by Mustangs this week gives Strawb an unprecedented fourth win in one season...not bad considering that it took him three years to win his last four games.

FOOTYLEDGENS has emerged as the Nutkickers main rival for the 2013 Bunny Bowl after they outclassed fellow top four opposition in Kiwi Krappers this weekend. The Nutkickers had a below par performance this week but were not punished for it by 14th ranked Strawb whose Mustangs have improved but not by enough to get the job done this week. bretts razorbacks are also looking good with some very consistent scoring in recent months. The razorbacks 2000 a week means that many teams in the Bunny are going to be able to lay a glove on him. If he can find maybe an extra 150 for the finals he could upset the Nutkickers in the finals if that is the round 20 match up.

The door to the top eight was left open slightly as Team LEO, Raging Hooligans and somehow onegameatatimers all got done. The Jackstars did something that no Division IV side has not been able to do for eight weeks and that is to beat Moe's team. In fact onegameatatimers have had a couple of defeats in the Bunny in recent weeks while they are smashing it in the higher grade. Teams to take advantage of the top eight stumble are the cobras who shouldn't be that low in this grade, Piglets Picks and Leisa's Lovelies who have now won four of their last five to press for a dramatic last minute entry into the finals.

This round saw the matchup of the worst two teams in the Hogg in Eaglesu18sXVIII and Joes GIANTS. Mighty Eags racked up a 300 point victory in what must be a record winning margin for a team that does not win all that often. The Eags are still stone motherless on the ladder though and need to pinch another one somewhere to avoid yet another Bunny spoon.

Joker's Raging Hooligans scored their best score for quite some time but found themselves out of the top eight after they got rolled by top four outfit Kiwi Krappers. cobras made a belated entry into the top eight at the Hooligans' expense and he was one relieved coach to beat his sister Leisa's Lovelies in their match. Moe continued on with his slight slump when the Onegameatatimers were trumped by second ranked FOOTYLEDGENS in a match that was much higher in standard than the majority of the Bunny Bowl matches this week.

Team LEO and bretts razorbacks both had high scoring wins and with Nutkickers' scoring being a little off in recent weeks perhaps this year's Bunny Bowl is not the one horse race it has appeared to be so far this season, even though the Kickers haven't dropped a match yet. Jackstars confirmed their spot in the top eight by defeating Piglets Picks in a result that all but ends the Piglets' season. Strawb meanwhile has won an unprecedented 5th match this season to show some real improvement as they triumphed over iSwitCh who put in a real shocker to lose by 86 points to the perennial Bunny Bowl struggler.

The Nutkickers winning streak in the Bunny Bowl is history after he came a cropper against bretts razorbacks and lost by 204 points. TSG hasn't had a good weekend against the REB clan with the brother in law winning in the Bunny and my lad Team LEO cleaning him up in Divvy IV. The Nutkickers were a bit unlucky though as you won't lose too many matches with a score of 2157 in the Bunny. Another team in the same unlucky boat is Leisa's Lovelies whose best score of the season wasn't enough to defeat top ranked Kiwi Krappers.

The Eags went back to their bad old ways with a shocking score which has them below Joes GIANTS in scoring as well as on the premiership table. Meanwhile, Strawb's late season hot streak extended for another week with a big win over the Sambuccas who went down again. The top eight is looking pretty settled at the moment with Piglets Picks perhaps a win too far away and Raging Hooligans having lost that winning feeling.

The Bunny Bowl has opened up a bit in recent weeks as the Nutkickers have lost the plot and have now dropped their last two matches. The Kickers were rolled by the razorbacks last week and copped a second straight loss when they were beaten by contender Team LEO this week. Jackstars put in a shit one this week and that has given the Raging Hooligans an unexpected late lifeline when it appeared that the top eight was done and dusted.

I never thought I would see the day that Strawb would have a 4-1 next to his name but this season has done exactly that with yet another win to the Mustangs who have now won seven matches and are sitting in eleventh. Strawb's running mate at the bottom MightyEags has also had a promotion up the ranks when they defeated the Sambuccas. Mighty Eags is now in 16th above the Giants and the Sambuccas so I guess a Sambuccas does gown down really well.

The last ever Bunny Bowl has wrapped up the minor proceedings and there appear to be 7 teams capable of winning this premiership with Jackstars perhaps only making up the numbers over the next few weeks.

A couple of weeks ago it was how far Nutkickers but their form in recent weeks had me incorrectly naming TSG as a tanker when in fact he is just stinking up the joint. He lost the unloseable lead and handed over the minor premiership to FOOTYLEDGENS. I'm liking the LEDGENS and brettsrazorbacks to play off for this flag but if Nutkickers can return to their earlier season form then they can challenge strongly for the Bunny Bowl title.

Teams in Green are teams that will be in Hogg Division VI next season as there will be no more Bunny Bowl after this season.

FOOTYLEDGENS has emerged as the premiership favourite after the first week of the Bunny Bowl finals after his solid win over the Kiwi in his Qualifying Final. The quality of the other quallie left much to be desired as an out of form Nutkickers scrambled over the line against brettsrazorbacks who suffered a finals flop with a shocking score of 1689.

The biggest score in the finals was young Team LEO who will fancy his chances against his uncle next (brettsrazorbacks) next week. Jackstars gave a yelp but were flogged by LEO and it's all over for them this season. In the other knockout final Moe made it two from two to clean up the cobras who like his brother (razorbacks) scored his worst score for several weeks just when he needed it most.

The LEDGENS look a good thing with the main challenge to come from Team LEO and onegameatatimers who have snuck under the radar a bit lately. There is still a chance to participate in the 2014 Hogg Champions League in this comp so there is much to play for the remaining Bunnies.

Bunny Bowl Semi Finals Previews

1st Semi Final 4 - Kiwi Krappers vs. 5 - Team LEO

These two sides will line up for the second time in two weeks after the youngster LEO cleaned up his uncle Kiwi in the Piglet Shield. It was comfortable win too for Team LEO so the Kiwi has a lot of ground to make up in order to reverse last week's result. The Kiwi has a host of unreliable options in Tom Mitchell, Bradley Hill and Sharrod Wellingham in the midfield and he'll be sweating on the return of Buddy to a forward line that underperfomed with the exception of Freo's Chris Mayne. While LEO has Tom Mitchell as well they also have Buddy so no real advantage for the Kiwi there. With too many duds I reckon Team Leo can eliminate his Uncle from a second SuperCoach league in two weeks. My tip - Team LEO.

2nd Semi Final 3 - brettsrazorbacks vs. 7 - Onegameatatimers

Trade burning brettsrazorbacks will be hard pressed to avoid going out in straght sets against a pretty strong Onegameatatimers combination. The razorbacks are tradeless and are currently carrying Brett Goodes, Matty Kruezer and now Chris Judd has joined the order of the donut. Onegameatatimers is clearly focusing on Division IV and he'll be a real player in this premiership. He has to get past the razorbacks first but you can put a fork in em - they're done. My tip - Onegameatatimers.

Semi Final Reviews

1st Semi Final

There will be no Christmas Cards from Uncle Kiwi for LEO this year after the youngster knocked his Uncle out of a second SuperCoach premiership in as many weeks. While LEO is not as cheeky as the kid in the Parko SuperCoach ad, Kiwi is just as grumpy as Parko after getting rolled by an eleven year old yet again LOL. This is why the Kiwi is in the Bunny after all. LEO is an unconventional coach that picks many PODs that often pay off and that is why he gave this week's carnage a big miss. Centuries from Adock, Monfries and Deledio provided LEO with a score that had Kiwi screaming Uncle. LEO has been the top scorer in the last two finals weeks in the Bunny so that's not good news for Nutkickers who play him next week.


2nd Semi Final

Two out of form sides battled it out desperately to remain in at least one Hogg premiership after copping defeats in other leagues. Moe's Onegameatatimers were rolled in the Division IV and the razorbacks bowed out in the Piglet so this match was a real consolation prize. With both teams scoring low scores the win went to Moe because for the second straight week trade burning razorbacks opened up a donut factory. While the bakery wasn't as bad as last weeks he left little for Moe to do and the Onegameatatimers took the win and they have advanced to the Prelim to take on FOOTYLEDGENS next week.

Bunny Bowl Prelim Previews

1st Preliminary Final 1 - FOOTYLEDGENS vs. 7 - Onegameatatimers

Both teams have had disappointing finals series in other grades and this match represents their last chance to achieve something in this Hogg season. Onegameatatimers best results were earlier in the season but Cub's FOOTYLEDGENS have looked better in the latter stages of the season as he finished over the top of Nutkickers to take pole position running into the finals. Like many teams this weekend FOOTYLEDGENS will be sweating on the return of Ibbotson although Cub can swing Staker down back and play Lee up front to avoid the donut. Onegamers have bigger issues. The back half is littered with question marks in Heath Shaw, Hanley, Pittard and Lester and Moe will be sweating on Cotchin not copping a visit from the general. Overall it appears that Cub has Moe covered unless the Moeman has a trade up his sleeve to bring in a decent defender. My tip - FOOTYLEDGENS.

2nd Preliminary Final 2 - Nutkickers vs. 5 - Team LEO

Nutkickers have been the dominant team for the majority of the Bunny Bowl season this year but now it's time to ship up or ship out. For several weeks now Nutkickers have struggled to score big but this hasn't been a problem for his opponent young LEO. Nutkickers have Hanley and Ibbotson down back but appear to be well covered by Lions Docherty and Lester. TSG will need Tom Mitchell to suit up or he'll be relying on perennial low scorer Nick Kommer in the midfield to score well which he hasn't got a history of doing. In the ruck Nutkickers are stuck with Blicavs if Tom Nicholls doesn't suit up. Up forward there are holes as well as he has Nick Naitanui still in his team. Looking at this lineup I'd suggest there has been at least two to three weeks of forgetting or not electing to trade. If he wants to make the grand final this week that option is not available. LEO looks fully loaded and the only major hassle is McAffer or Staker up forward. Even if Nutkickers makes a couple of trades it is difficult to make a case for them in this match. My tip - Team LEO.
