Got plenty of trades & money left, see if I can do more damage in the finals.

Final sees my team Cork in the Ocean (1) vs Rumcoks (5) making a strong run from the 1st Elimination final.

After a lucky Qualifying final win the Corkies smashed Dutchys Dodos in the 1st Prelim who had a shocker coming off a big Semi Final.
In the 2nd Prelim, 2nd ranked Copper Handfull misfired and couldn't handle the Rumcoks.

Grand Final should be a beauty, but I'm sweating on possible injuries and tribunal results!

Well after a drama filled week of suspensions and more injuries, both teams limped into the GF with Cork in the Ocean (no trades) suffering the team's first doughnut for the year!

Saturday provided more problems for both sides with Enright (no cover for Rumcoks) and Selwood (Koby Stevens emergency for Corkies) not taking the field for the Cats.

The Geelong vs WCE match turned out to be the pivotal match for the final with the Corkies' captain Ablett producing a superb 176 after a slowish start. Later on in the day, Rumcoks' captain Goddard could only manage a sub-par 102 against Adelaide.

In the end Rumcoks scored another doughnut with Hitchcock withdrawing from the Port side, but by then it was all over.

Good summary.

The captain choice cost me big time. I stuck with Ablett for 90% of the season and tried something different to gain an advantage and it cost me. Thought Ablett had a sore hand, what a superstar.

The better team over the season won, and due respect for that. Certainly is a tough competition, and the final is a good example of having a well rounded team with good cover.

So was it $200 for first place, and $120 for second.
