DT points are updated continuously.
The site can't get a live SC feed, so they can only do quarter by quarter.

They also do delayed scores if you are watching a delayed telecast.

SC is rigged, i never believed it when i first heard it but if you tally up everyones score in the game it totals 3300 pts or there abouts, give or take 5 pts. Its obviously scaled depending on performance which i for one think ruins the fantasy game, if the bloke gets a kick he gets 3pts, or a handball is 2pts in DT, SC has effective and ineffective possessions which makes it hard to determine as an onlooker, and how do they actually work that out? 3300 points is the total they give out and it seems they give each player a % of those pts.

Im not joking, tally up a few games (both teams in the game) and it will total 3300 or close enough!
2020 AFL Premiers: Richmond 12.9.81 def Geelong 7.8.50
2019 AFL Premiers: Richmond 17.12.114 def Greater Western Sydney 3.7.25
2017 AFL Premiers: Adelaide 8.12.60 def by Richmond 16.12.108
2012 D5 Premiers: Brahma Lodge 24.15.159 def Hope Valley 7.13.55

It's deliberately done that way so you can compare performances of a high possession game at the Dome (say) v some wet slog at AAMI Stadium. Other wise Daniel Cross at the Dome gets 150 and Travis Boak at AAMI only gets 80 even though their influence on their games was the same but there were far fewer total possessions in the wet. So it's scaled back to the same 3300 total points handed out every game. If it's a high possession game then all those junk time stats are scaled back so players in a lower possession game are not disadvantaged.

This way you can also compare players' scores over time as well as it removes the impact of changes in game style to a more high possession game.

It's not rigged, that's the actual system they use.

Scores aren't only weighted for effective possessions, but also for the impact that those possessions have on a game.

It's why SC is king - it's multi-dimensional.

Andrew Krakouer's performance in the WAFL GF was worth 290 SC points, a record at senior level.
The AFL record is Nathan Buckley with 267 points in 2001.
