Such sad news. Only diagnosed 3 days ago.

A larger than life character, someone who it just felt like he was almost invincible. Huge loss to the music industry. It just doesn't feel real that he's gone

Sad news. May he noisily rest in peace and p!ss off the neighbours.

Every hard rock/metal/punk band post-1980 (I'm looking especially at you, Metallica) owes him an enormous debt.

Great pic! The Lord and his Disciples.

Who's the guy in the face paint and hat on the extreme left?

Is it meant to be Papa Emeritus?

Dunno...I thought PE looks more Pope-y.

Whilst I love 'Rust In Peace' as an album, I'd probably query Dave Mustaine's inclusion.

Also unlikely that Tony Iommi would look up to Lemmy; they're probably on equal footing in the metal influence stakes.

Thanks MatteeG, reckon you're on the money there.

Mind you, again I'm not sure he's a Lemmy disciple.

If anything, Tony Iommi should be the main figure in the picture, flanked by Rob Halford and Lemmy, followed by Bruce Dickinson, King Diamond, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine and Kerry King.

There is movement afoot to have the element ununpentium with atomic number 115 named after Lemmy.

You know it makes sense: A heavy metal element named after a heavy metal legend.
