Well last nights preview of the film was certainly a grand night out.
A packed house at Her Majesty's Theatre was treated to a fine documentary of Paul Kelly's life and career, including early footage of his first bands, interviews with PK, his band members, friends and family taking us from his childhood in Adelaide and on to Melbourne and Sydney.
Needless to say there is lots of music in the film, and the great man said a few words and played a few of his new songs after the film.
A highlight for me was when footage of PK as a young man wearing a Norwood cap was greeted with "Go Redlegs" from some crowd members. PK's love of sport featured in the film including him being a handy footy, cricket and tennis player.
A few beers at the Metropolitan after the show topped off a great evening.
