Here's a couple of reviews:

Brandy Clark
Big Day In A Small Town.

BRANDY Clark is talented and has a wonderful way of portraying small-town life.
Big Day In A Small Town lovingly picks apart the minutiae of a rural community, picking fun without being disparaging – which can often be a path fraught with danger.
Ranging through the implications of being broke (drinking generic Coke), love (If you want the girl next door, go next door), single parenthood (there's how you plan it out – and how it turns out to be) and, of course, small-town life (there's always something to talk about here), Clark writes with a clear desire to entertain, whilst occasionally tugging at the heart strings.
There is a strong sense of 'girl power' running throughout this captivating album, which at no time hits a flat spot.
As with any traditional country album, there's always a tear jerker and Since You've Gone to Heaven fills this requirement.
There are so many snappy, enjoyable moments on this album that it is hard to pick a favourite track, but Broke is so much fun that it is hard to go past.
If the fictitious town of Dillon, of Friday Night Lights fame, was to have an album written about it, Clark's latest album, Big Day In A Small Town would be it.

Also spinning:
Train – Train Does LedZeppelin II: One of the most vanilla rock bands in rock history covers the band which defined the ulitmate in excess in this 'faithful' rendition of the massive Zep album. The reason why is obscure, while the end result sounds like a cover band colouring within the lines.

case/lang/veirs (self-titled): This supergroup featuring avant garde artist Niko Case, k.d.lang and Lara Veirs has created a sumptuous song list that is beguiling, bewitching and soothing whilst touching on deeply personal ground.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
