Did anyone go to see From The Jam?? Just curious on your thoughts if you did. I love The Jam but couldn't bring myself to go as there was no Paul Weller.

Did any1 else have to sit through Duran Duran last nite?

I can't begin imagine watching a gig in a corporate box - clearly they are not usually people who are into the band in question anyway so why bother?

I really enjoyed DD with a few caveats. Simon Le Bon was pretty darn cheesy - his speech about 'fear' in our society was hilarious. The lighting was not so much over bright as ******* dangerous - my eyes still hurt from all that strobing. The final 'introducing the band' was hideous and cliched beyond belief...came close to ruining the whole night for me.

Liked a lot of the rest of it though and haven't seen an Ent Cent crowd (mostly mid 30s females and embarrassed male partners) get so worked up before. Absolutely loved the electro Kraftwerk tribute halfway through where the 4 original members all came to the front of stage on keyboards and tore up a few of their more obscure tracks. Great!

Yeah Duran Duran was good, although there were quite a few songs i'd never heard of.

Was also disappointed they butchered "Girls on Film" at the end by introducing the band members. I, and a lot of other people as well, were looking forward to that song throughout the whole night and i dont think they did it justice.

Wow, how bad was that??? For a 25+ y.o. band I was really pleased how for the most part they avoided cliches and even pushed themselves with the cool electro set. For that reason I was happy for them to play the new stuff.

But that abomination at the end - 10 minutes of total ego stroking, murdering Girls on Film in the process - left a really sour taste. Oh well, at least Wild Boys was cool!

He's got about 10 files up now I see. I hate wallies with mobile phones / cameras at concerts but hey, I'm happy to watch the fruits of his labours - even if it meant he watched the entire show through a 5" screen

Yeah I don't get it either, zipper. I have seen stacks of people doing this at concerts, and there is no way they enjoy themselves, too busy trying to get a good picture.

It is handy for the concerts that you can't get to though.

Saw Jesus and Mary Chain last night. Amazing show once they got the mix right - took about 4 songs. Don't know if they are playing Adelaide or not, but if they are see them!!!

The Metro in Bourke Street. Not a sell out but pretty full.

Millencolin were brilliant last Thursday. This week sees Pennywise, Sum 41, Bowling for Soup and the Vandals hit the Thebby Theatre.

Not bad for Adelaide punk fans, last year - NOFX, Bad Religion, the Bouncing Souls, this year, Millencolin, Pennywise, Dropkick Murphys, fricken sweet!

Has been announced that NaS, one of the greatest hip hop artists of all-time will be playing the Ent Cent in November this year ($115+) for tickets, I guess you pay fro the best) Will be interesting to see the support acts, would be daunting for whoever it is.

Should be a good night in a more intimate venue like Thebby than the empty hole that is the Enta Centre.

Saw him at the Day on the Green last year and was excellent playing all the oldies plus his new stuff.

I would go to the Ministry of Sound Sessions if it wasn't at HQ.
