None of the albums they made after The Colour and the Shape could compare to The Colour and the Shape so they were never going to reach that level again. Doesn't mean they're not good albums/songs though, I love the Foo Fighters and I love all their music. I'm just glad they're still making music, much better than listening to the sh!t on the radio.

They're going to a city and putting themselves on the clock to write a song in a certain amount of time instead of letting inspiration come naturally. Hence why these songs aren't up to muster, IMO.
Still, that said.....better than 99% of the crap FM radio have on their playlists ATM.

I read all of the songs were already written beforehand but Grohl just wrote the lyrics in each city they visited to record them.
FWIW, I really liked FF first two albums but after that they turned into MOR Triple M radio rock.
