Southern State Country Champions Again

Postby Waterboy » Sun Jul 15, 2007 11:43 pm

Southern Districts took out the State Country Championships again today.

A couple of late changes. McKenzie pulled out Thursday, replaced by Daniel Reavill. A non-SFL pull out Friday afternoon replaced by Andrew Platten. Platten missed the first game, got to Pirie in time for the second.

SFL players in the Team of the Championships
Josh Ramsey - Full Forward
Josh Vick - Rover

Both also made the State side to play Vic Country in a couple of weeks time.

Josh Vick runner up player of the championships.

On the down side Bacchman took a fantastic grab in the second quarter of the last game, up so high he broke his collarbone whenh he landed.

Not sure if it was going anywhere regardless if Bachman was playing or not.

Can I ask, and this is a serious question, why is the SFL considered a country league? Surely everything down to Noarlunga at least is still metropolitan? It's the Southern equivalent of calling Elizabeth 'country'.

Two dif players dude you know that.
Tyrone was sensational, not in the same class as Vick, Vick is an eccentric nuggety midfielder, Tyrone is a bit mroe streamlines, ran his lines well, found plenty of it.

Hill played some great footy over the whole weekend.

Was named under 21 player of the championships and on the wing for the team of the championships

As Silicon Skyline said a completely different type of player to Vick, but also extremely effective in his own way.
