SFL Clubs Junior Information

Postby Wedgie » Sun Feb 28, 2010 8:43 pm

Post information about your juniors here. Post information about when training is, where it is, who to contact and any other information you like! Free advertising to get more kids playing for you in the SFL.
Personally Im after info about how I can join my 10 year old son up with the Wineflies (sorry Shoeboy but Dad wants to walk home from the club), who I can contact and when they might have a sign on or training day for that age group.
Get me on board Reynella as you'll have one of SAFootys owners on side! ;)

Yes that is our 14s & 16s, it is so good to get so many numbers out so early. I belive the boys are real keen at having another great year after last years 14s doing so well. Great to see.

OSB/LONS

U14 TRAININGS - Start this week:
Tuesday and Friday nights @ 4.30

Current A grade player Gary Dean (also has experience at South Adelaide) is coaching the under 14s. Will have the help of numerous current/former A grade players/coaches throughout the season. We are still a few players short of filling a team in this grade.

Are your kids not getting a fair go? We offer all kids a fair go and we aim to improve their skills in all facets of the game and more importantly have fun doing it.

Are subs too high? We offer the cheapest subs in the league.

Your child will not be "just another number" at the Lonsdale Lions. We are committed to re establishing our junior programme. Our numbers have grown from zero in 2005 to over 100 (and growing) in 2010. Give us a try you wont be disappointed.

How young are the youngest children? My little boy will be five in a couple of weeks and he's expressed an interest in playing footy, and Reynella's our closest club. But he's a bit scared of people that are bigger than him.

he will be in auskick then fisho they start off just learning the basics doing drills and build up towards having a game further in the year but its non contact and generally they will be put in groups of simular age etc for that. generally u8 is year 2/3 but have made it age groups to align with u14s etc.

Thanks to the Reynella lads for making my son and other newcomers feel really welcome tonight. My son's first comment after training was "Gee, its harder than training at school".
Welcome to real footy son!!! ;)
It still didn't seem right that it wasn't at the Shoe like his old man was. They gave us some good paper work including the club song and it really didn't have the same ring as "Here we go, never fear to the premiership this year....." but I'm sure it'll grow on me. I've got to work out how long before I change "Noarlunga" to "Reynella" in my user profile, it'll be difficult!
Maybe after his first game. ;)
I'm sure other clubs are similar but I'd encourage any parents/lads to head out to training at Reynella, really well run. :D

My son has started with the Happy Valley Under 8's this year and is really getting into it despite being a year behind most others in terms of experience.

They have enough players for two small teams (BLACK & GOLD )so if anyone is still looking for a game we have some spots available

Training is 5pm - 6pm Friday Nights
