That's fantastic recruiting but seems like a massive operation for yourself and even the club. Borderline professional athletes now

In other news, what are people's thoughts on the introduction of an u21s only, association team this year. Squad invites have already gone out. Any u21 superstars at your club that would be stiff to miss a gig?

Great idea, means that our association team can be a genuine senior team rather than an U/23 hybrid team. There were guys being gifted senior rep jumpers because of their age rather than merit.

Heres a concept....why not have the association team for the best performed players in the association regardless of age. Reward the best players with a payment and a jumper.
Blokes that dont want to play, dont play and their spot goes to the next best player and so on.

Association footy is great fun to play and very good to watch so age restricting is stupid

Flaggies by 9 goals over the Saints at Christies today!!! A fantastic team effort with everyone contributing. Maybe Saints had the wrong attitude after their win over HV last weeek, but take nothing away from the Falcons. A great win.

Be aware of your facts guys. An SFL U21 team is playing an open age Kangaroo Island team on Sunday 25 May as a curtain raiser to SAFC v Crows SANFL game. The SFL lads will still play club footy the day before. There is still a SFL v GSFL Association game at Strath on June long weekend plus U17.5 and U15. The SFL were hoping not to be forced to pick a certain amount of U21 players for this game but apparently the GSFL have insisted on minimum 6 U21 players which helps with the selection of the 6 U21 players for the Southern Dist team for the Country Champs. Don't get me started on why the SFL is still a part of the Country Champs.

That's not the SFL's problen

Pick a senior team rather than this hybrid rubbish. Our U/21s are catered for. If GSFL don't like it then us and KIFL can select the mickey mouse zone team between us.

Make it happen selectors

Is the state country team age restricted too. WTF!

The BEST country footballers no matter what age they are, get picked surely.

Imagine if they bought back State of Origin and had that rule?

Stupid.

As far as I'm aware the Country Champs require 4 to 6 Under 21 players in each team and so is the SA Country team if there is any SA Country team playing anyone else this year. Seems stupid but thems the rules which I believe all leagues abide by for their June long weekend inter-association matches followed by the selection of the Zone teams for the July Country Champs.

Last time I looked we did not enter a team in the country championships on our own. Pick our best 21, select the zone team however that needs to be done, but don't water our association team down anymore for the purposes of a carnival that no one cares about.

The association team is not about the zone team, it is about our league.

Brett Weeden from Christies Beach takes photos of their matches, and posts them on his Sportingpulse page.
He sent me the link as he is happy for everyone to enjoy his photos.

Here are his photos from the Christies v Flaggies match, where you can see our new Clash Guernsey displayed.

Having witnessed that game first hand....Valleys were horrible, just a bad day and Christies played extremely well and deserved the win. A committed side on its day can always beat a good side without that commitment. Fortunately that was reversed on Saturday with a strong team performance against Edwardstown, especially from some of the younger guys who really stepped up.
