How can FIFA possibly justify this, or anybody for that matter!
considering that it can bring in billions to the economy $42 million is like back pocket change

42 million is the answer to a sick joke. It really is.
The joke being FIFA.
Its a corrupt tender process where shed loads of money dissappear.
I'd love to host a world cup here in the future but spending that kind of money, just for the bid, is crazy.

fifa has been corrupted since it started . Nothing new there
But i think that fact is that the AFL and Rugby bosses are running scared and more happier not to have the world cup as they know that if we get it it will kill those leagues during the run up and during the world cup. Most kids will want to play or be involved in football , rather than AFL and rugby

Not a bad start 2-1 over Kyrzygstan. They played some decent football in patches and put us under some decent pressure. Was a pity to concede very late but will take it

Terrible in the final 1/3, looking to pass the ball into the net. Need to press the keeper into some saves

Looks like they were having trouble on the ball with the artificial pitch, they seemed to be keen on trying to get it on the head

Won 3-0 in the end, through sheer weight of chances, and a couple of classy finishes from tim Cahill
