He was a champ. Heard him on that crap panel thing this morning as well, he is a top fella, thoroughly Aussie and deserving of Gold and adulation!

The last time I watched something that made me leap off the couch cheering was when the Socceroos qualified for the world cup. Last night I had goosebumps for about an hour after Hooker claimed gold. What an absolute legend!!!

Ditto

From the camera shots we got of the race he looked a fair bit taller than the other competitors and seemed to have a lot more upper body muscle. I'm hoping that's due to a new style of training that's really paying off rather than anything else.

Regards
JAS

He's 6'5'' and is clearly, supremely athletic.
Sprinters often have quite strong upper bodies.

Eased up tremendously in the 200 m heat just held.
Just "jogged" the last 50 m.

I know this bloke isn't teh best person to quote on this matter but an exerpt from todays FitzFiles (www.smh.com.au)

Carl Lewis on Usain Bolt: "When people ask me about Bolt, I say he could be the greatest athlete of all time. But to run 10.03 seconds one year and 9.69 the next, if you don't question that in a sport with the reputation it has right now, you're a fool. Period." Possibly a fair point, but Lewis, who had his own failed drug tests covered up by the US Olympic Committee, is not the one to make it.

x2.

Thought it was particularly ironic when he was commenting about a slight incline on part of the course, and how it would be especially trying for the athletes.... How would that fat b@stard know? He wouldn't have walked up an incline in his life, unless it was to get to a McDonalds.
