Biggest flog in cricket you've met

Postby wenchbarwer » Tue Jan 13, 2026 12:19 pm

I've just seen two mentions of the word "flog" in as many minutes in different cricket threads, so it's got me thinking.

Who is the biggest flog you've met in cricket?

In a rather packed field, I'd have Greg "Mo" Matthews, in front of Paul Reiffel and Mark Waugh/Chris McDermott tied for third

Greg Matthews a mile ahead of the pack for me.

I have myself running a distant second.

Reasons being:

3: McDermott & Waugh were at a meet & greet and refused to do either of those

2: Paul Reiffel told me to get ****** at Joplins on my buck's night (this one may have been self-induced...)

1: Mo Matthews came to our town in the 80's for a cricket clinic. Proceeded to hit on all the mums, when he'd pose for photos he'd say "Sex" instead of "Cheese", all very enlightening for 10 year old me

This is restricted to Australian cricket I take it?

I reckon there are some poms out there that give even Greg Matthews a run for his money.

He’s a T20 flog not a cricketer

I hacked my way around a Golf Course with Blewy and Laurie Colliver one day many years ago.
Great day, Blewy gave me some good tips.
Was one of my fave players as well.
Dunno what you've heard but no ones perfect.

Biggest Flog?
Any player that feels the need to wear Gold chains around their neck etc whilst playing is generally a flog in my book.
There seems to be a few getting around

Yeah, I wondered the same thing, I played against him years ago and he seemed alright, I enjoy listening to his thoughts on the game and his inside info on players.

Pretty sure we had an all time Flog XI listed somewhere, it wasn't limited to players we have met though.

Does following them back to their hotel to see where they are staying constitute as "met"?
