Heard a whisper last night that one of the "stars" that are coming is Doggett from QLD. Not sure about any others or any of the Victorians (I suspect they might be coming over like Bosisto and Gibson have done in the past and try to win a contract). By the way - I'm not sure if Gibson has managed to get a contract. Haven't heard anything with that.

Heard Doggett coming too (played with Ferg at Sydney Thunder so WT keen on getting him). Think Gibson missed out. Even though not announced in delistings, heard Valente has missed out due to Head having to be signed by Redbacks now.

Very interesting.
I see we've signed a rock star - Lindsay Buckingham

Getting Doggett is an ideal recruit for both parties as he has found himself behind Neser, Steketee, Bartlett and Wildermuth (aswell as Swepson) for Queensland in recent times while we all know how SA performed with the ball in season 20/21 plus with Sayer retiring SA needed to replace him with another seasoned fast bowler. I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes here.

McAndrew is well far back in the fast bowler/allrounder pecking order for NSW so why not come to SA for more opportunity.

Nice to see Bailey Capel get an opportunity as a rookie after being amongst the runs the last two seasons (especially 20/21) in grade cricket.

The interesting thing will be where these new recruits land in the Premier comp. Will they all go to the big name sides to make them stronger or do they go to the lower Clubs and try and equalise the comp a bit

Simply move here off your own bat free to play where ever

Move here on a SACA contract then should be told where they are playing for length of first contract in my opinion. SACA need to strength there side and grade cricket and pointless them going to the the top 5-6 clubs regardless of their living arrangements/mates already here.

Where these players go to play in the grade set up really means nothing. It's a competition that is so far broken and in its current form is beyond repair

The last thing they'd do would be consider which struggling club to hitch their wagon to

Should the SACA implement a system similar to what the SANFL had back in the day of no Crows/Power reserves side.

If you were a SACA recruit from interstate then you went into a mini draft.....draft order was based on last years ladder positions and as per every draft the bottom side got first pick of all players in the draft. Some years there were 5 picks in total other years there were more. At least players went to a club that felt they genuinely could use them and it did equalise the comp to a small point.

Then do a Daniel Worrall and walk out on the club you were 'encouraged' to join and go to the club you originally wanted to go to in the first place the following season!

Absolutely that could happen but like the SANFL draft there were generally more positive stories than negative.

A former Big Bash League and state cricketer fronted court in Darwin on Monday, charged with possessing child abuse material and grooming a minor after his alleged behaviour was brought to the attention of cricket authorities.

Aaron Summers, 25, appeared in front of the Darwin Local Court, with police alleging that his mobile phone contained child abuse videos.

Summers played one game for the Hobart Hurricanes in late 2017 as well as three one-dayers with Tasmania, for whom he made his debut in 2018.

Summers, a fast bowler originally from Perth, had been due to play in this winter’s NT Cricket 365 tournament, an event run by Cricket Australia and featuring a host of current and former state and BBL players.

Wasn't sure where to post it but it looks pretty inevitable some of the untold truths regarding the sandpaper gate are going to be told.

Obviously Bancroft is bitter about being the one players who entire career has been killed, Warner and Smith back in the national team, all the bowlers going about there business as usual.

Wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that it was a lot more strategic and pre meditated than had been originally told. It did have a massive cover up feel about it at the time.

You’d have to be naive to think otherwise.

Being a shit bloke and horribly out of form wouldn't have much to do with it either? We've been screaming for an opener to stand up and assist Warner but he failed to, CA would've picked him, they don't care about what the public think.

Who are we expecting could go under the bus.....

Reckon Lehman was more involved and got out of the role strategically.
Bowlers to implicated in a similar way to Smith in that they knew but didn't do anything about it.
Will we learn of more occasions similar took place.

In a decade's time, if you're playing international cricket I think you'd notice if the ball has been scuffed up by some sandpaper, it's like hard wicket where and errant return has scraped on some concrete, it's pretty easy to disguise aswell as the only time the ump has it in his possession is following a wicket and he generally catches it and whacks it straight in the sky rocket.
