I'm glad we won the toss and the bowlers have made the most of it.

But wouldn't think Pattinson or Cummins, even fully fit, would be all that far ahead.

I'd have Siddle instead of Bird

2.1 overs 2/4 for Viscious

Siddle is the tight half back flanker who gets the job done week in week out. He's the "drummer in the band" of our attack keeping it all together.

TSG was spot on about him

Was that Richardson?? Plonka!

I ignored a thread in another part of this forum about commentaors and I know apart from Chappelli, Healy and Taylor ours struggle but one thing about the Ch 9 commentators is they very seldom use the the word "we" when commentating unlike some of kuwu commentators like I heard Richardson say last week.

Heard them use it in the SL series too.

Smith is good.

Only on pitches like this green one

On a flat wicket Siddle offers nothing these days at his gent 125km pace

If we bowl them out say just after lunch then we will still be exposed to it. We are just as likely to collapse like they have.

In general I think somewhere between 300 and 400 is a good score for aim for in first innings when producing a pitch. That means a team should be batting for roughly 120 overs. If they do that in their first innings and bat for 80 in the second innings, thats still 4 days and 40 overs of cricket

Spot on.

Steve Smith was hardly convinced our batting would be able to withstand a wicket offering a bit of movement, when interviewed this morning...

Bolt and Southee will be a handful on this pitch. Some serious test match cricket will be played today.

Absolutely riveting.
