Graeme Hick averaged mid 50's in first class but couldnt make a run to save himself at test level.
I wouldnt read too much into Saffer domestic form when you get to face guys like Tahir and Petersen every week

my point is, how is he supposed to prove himself to your lofty standards in order to play a test match if it is not with excellent first class and ODI form?

I have never seen a ball of South African first class cricket to know what the standards like

His two dismissals this test were as two bad a dismissals you will see from a recognised batsmen in test cricket.

Will this batsman perform in this run chase ?
Last 11 innings
148-22
24-23
10-6*
10-6
23-17*
19

Since the 148 his stats
10 innings
160 runs
2 not outs
20.00 average

Lots of starts, but nothing BIG
Time for Michael Clarke to perform

The way we've carried Watson all this time, Clarke could play until he's 40 years old if he likes.

Yep, one prediction I have been correct on this last week. He is a deadset spud

One test. The only thing you do is shoot your mouth off way too early. It is entertaining though.

It's the same old same old in here! If Johnson bowls sh!t in his next innings they'll all start on him as well.

You will notice I haven't praised Johnson on his current form. Could be gone already.

We already have someone like him.
Phil Hughes scored a century in each innings of his second test and he was only 20
