I agree, no problem with that. The more people watching and participating in sport, the better.

However, when ramp shots, reverse sweeps and slower ball bouncers become part of Test cricket vernacular then the damage is irreparable. When the kids of today can't appreciate 4.0 as an acceptable run rate, the damage is done.

For us "knockers" we tread a fine line, all may be fine and dandy in the long run and all three forms survive. ( I think I speak for all of the "knockers" when I say ) If the form that suffers is Test cricket, in any way, then it will be to the detriment of the game forever.

Having said all that, all sports, all games, develop and change over time.

T20 = hit and giggle.

I think of it like the WWE, the fans flock to it and it provides plenty of enertainment. At the end of the show most people go home happy and the end result doesnt really matter

That's how I view t20 cricket

I'll support an Aussie and West Indies side in any form of cricket but once the event of t20 is over I'm not fussed about the result. It's the support while the gane is on I enjoy.

There is no way I could support a made up 'franchise' and be passionate about it

Would you like t20 to be the most prestigious, valued form of cricket

I don't think so. I remember as a kid, I had very little interest in test cricket, but was a massive fan of the ODI's. As I've gotten older, my preferences started to swing towards the longer form, to the point where Test cricket is far and away my favourite form of the game.
The real beauty of test cricket is harder to appreciate when you're young & as long as the countries competing continue to promote this as the pinnacle of cricket, I think the next generation will mature into Test match cricket fans.

I think in countries like Australia & England, via the legend of the Ashes it'll continue to be the focus here.

However in my opinion the danger is cricket boards countries such as India being lured completely by the $$$ and neglecting the state of its test team. Not saying the BCI is corrupt, but...
I think in the majority of Countries Cricket boards that the Test game is still promoted as the pinnacle of playing for your country. With maybe arguments for India & possibly Bangladesh. I'll discuss WI below

Whilst a different case given the lack of stability at a board level (due to being made up of multiple countries) & less sponsorship $$$ to go around. T20 has certainly damaged West Indian test cricket as they prestige couldn't compete with the $$$.

Nope

I half heartedly support Melbourne Victory

My old man is a Carlton AFL fan as I kid I had a small interest in Carlton when the NSL introduces the Carlton SC I supported them to which a lot of the initial Melbourne Victory fans were from

Though I would go to a game Centrals vs South at Noarlunga before a Melbourne Victory GF if they were on at the same time

Great post milky bar kid 100% agree

The big worry is not Australia it's countries like India and the West Indies in particular

My enjoyment of test cricket would die if it was the Ashes twice every year

We needs as many strong international test sides as possible and sadly t20 seems to be hurting some nations more than othees

Exactly and like I said I have a half hearted interest in them

I follow the scores but I don't make any special attempts to watch games ala getting work off etc etc

I just don't feel any connection with them, maybe it's just the distance but yeah Im defiantly not a 'passionate' do or die supporter and probably never will be, for me im passionate about

West Ham
Aussie Test Side
Centrals
Spudbacks

These teams wins and loses affect my mood, I always make special attempts to watch games, get the scores etc etc

Only 52,663 crowd for the BBL final AS V SS
Not bad for a sport that some posters have said that crowds would drop off after the novelty factor
Or was it a one off big crowd to see the champion fast bowler Brett Lee play for the last time in Adelaide ?

Is this the biggest cricket days attendance at AO ever ?
52663 BBL 2015
50962 Bodyline Test match 1933 [one of the days]

Too bad we let the 1933 team play for us today. :(

Will be awesome to see them get 1400 for the GF in Canberra.
