Correct, a good player manager (almost everyone has one these days) would be advising to think about when it turns to shit and you lose your contract to have a plan B.

they seem to be a lot better at setting players up for a future career than they used to be. you get the feeling that most footballers and cricketers in the 70s and 80s were basically just booted out on their arse and left to their own devices.

Well most of them had some sort of job in those days, full time first class cricketers wasn't around until the early to mid 90's much like the footballers.

Hopefully this means he's willing to buy into the program and keep to the standards set. I've no doubt SA making the hard call was the right call. He might average 40, but those extra runs in the field and between the wickets because of the fitness meant 40 wasn't enough.

An apprentice, putting their career on hold to learn their trade, would weep for the problems faced by cricketers who put their future career on hold for a crack at the big time.

But they are putting their career on hold. They could be off and doing lots of other jobs where they would have the short-term gain of earning more money than they would as an apprentice. But anyway, off topic.

I would argue that other jobs aren't a career and by career I imply that some sort of study is involved. But yeah off topic

Walked past Mark last night at the footy. Looking considerably slimmer than the last time i saw him. Fingers crossed he can turn that into runs!

Half correct ?
Mark Cosgrove has weight issues , that is no secret

But to cryptically call him a c..t is insidious ?

Have you met Mark ?
I've only briefly chatted to him , my impressions were that he is anything but a c..t

To clarify the matter, does anyone on SAFOOTY know Mark personally ?
Could they clear up whether he is a c..t?
