Wow big improvements this year, went from 2 points last year to 26 this year in a close competiton never seen before. I realise some of you are just "trolling" but look at the facts. Last year we were not even in contention at Christmas. How many people at the start of the season would have expected us to go from bottom (2 points) to a Shield final? No one. Four Outright wins this year and a couple of close losses where we should have won.

While disappointed we got so close but didnt make the final, there are alot of positives from this season. Sayers, Mennie, Richardson and Putland will form an amazing pace attack over the next few years if we can get them on the park at the same time. Really need to develop some batsmen to capitalise on their tight bowling. Ludemans wicketkeeping was great and scored some runs.

i disagree with the whole "we improved from last year" way of looking at our season. The fact is we were one wicket away from a guaranteed spot in the shield final, and completely choked. Same as we did in the Ryobi Cup. Same as the Strikers did in the BBL. That's what we will be judged on. That's what our season needs to be critiqued on.

If you dont win the Sheild, makes no difference where on the table you finish. You get the same credit whether you finish second or last on the table.

Do you disagree that going winless and scoring 2 points on the shield table to this season 26 points and 4 outright wins is improvement? I agree with you in that we can and should judge it on what we failed to achieve but gee it's a massive improvement on the last few years!

what a load of rubbish - if you cant take a stack positives going from being guaranteed to lose every game to being a good chance to make a final then there really is no point to playing sport.

the fact also is we werent 1 wicket away from a guaranteed spot in the shield final, had we beaten wa we wouldve finished on 30 points, the same as tas and qld but both of them had a higher quotient than us.
