I may be in a small group but I love the guy and what he brings to the game.

Played international cricket for 22 years now and has a very, very good record in all forms of the game. He has now passed 14,000 T20 runs.

Love watching him and respect him greatly for being one of the few decent west indian cricketers in recent times to commit to playing test cricket 101 tests albeit at times he talked disparagingly about the format at times.

Good slogger, but.....

“Don’t mind the numbers ... you guys should be happy to see Chris Gayle on the field still. Hopefully Chris will last as long as possible. Cherish those moments ... just respect the Universe Boss and let him play cricket and have some fun,” says Chris Gayle
PAFC. Forever.

I got my wish, Carey and Meredith in at the expense of Phillipe and Agar.

And Starc remains in the side despite going at over 11 an over for the series so far.

For this match I have highlighted how old each player will be on Dec 31 2021.
Wade 34
Finch 35
Marsh 30
Carey 30
Moises 34
Turner 28
Christian 38
Starc 31
Zampa 29
Meredith 25
Hazlewood 30

A 31.3 average helped largely by Meredith, is this where we are at atm?

Anyone remember in the 90s when England kept going back to the likes of Gooch, Gatting, DeFraitas, Malcolm, Hollioakes, Hick, Ealham, Emburey, Boofs BIL, the Aussie Poms etc etc, you know all those domestic stars that proved after many opportunities they wernt up to it. The selectors were slow learners, ours have learnt nothing from the English example.

This Aussie team shows there is a huge gap between BBL and T20 Internationals/other T20 leagues.

Windies need 36 from 12 and Meredith goes for 25 off 5 balls, importantly gets the wicket last ball.
Russell then keeps the strike for the last over and concedes 5 dot balls in a row! Game over :D
