It wont happen. Watto would need probably 4 successive failures or an injury that prevents him to bowl for him to be dropped.

Secondly, can you play 3 Mitchell's in the one side?

Agreed, Watson will continue to keep his golden ticket. As much as I want him pissed off barring injury he'll play in the first test unfortunately.

Watson does have a solid bowling record in England from memory so that will help him keep his spot.

I'd love for them to go with that line up hawks21. Marsh or Voges? It's a toss of a coin. Depends on if Voges makes a decent score in this current tour match.

Watsons bowling is a tad better than marshes still I think. So if he is bowling he plays I think.

I reckon Watson's a much better bat than Marsh. Watson though will retire with a test average that doesn't reflect his talent. Also Marsh bowls very similar stuff to the other quicks while Watson offers some variety.

Marsh might be handy but a guy who averages 30 with the bat and bowls part time doesn't get a long term spot IMHO.

Watson by miles the better bowler.

If Harris plays Watson has to play as the 5th bowler, Harris and Johnson need their spells to be effective

Fair enough I agree with the above that Watson at this point in time is the better bowler. I'm just sick of his mediocre performances and with Marsh breathing down his neck for a spot now if he doesn't perform with the Bat AND Ball in the first two tests then Marsh really should come in.

This would also obviously depead on how we go as a team and how many overs Watson actually gets to bowl.

marsh reminds me a bit of Ben Stokes. Even though he can bowl at decent pace he still seems like a better batter than a bowler, im not too sure he has enough tricks to regularly get people out at Test level, which is something you cant say about watson.

Half expect that Watto gives up test cricket after the ashes if we win and marsh will obviously be a walk up start then

That describes Watson aswell, he's just maintained a long term spot because there's been no other allrounders good enough to take his spot. Marsh is now on the scene to take his spot, give the young fella a crack against the English and see how he handles it!

Hopefully he can pick up some wickets in against Essex.

With Harris out, Watson might be needed to bowl some tight overs. Marsh doesn't really do that yet.

Marsh another big ton overnight.

Certainly doing the right things to get selected.

With Harris out it might actually help marshs cause because hazelwood can bowl longer spells than Harris would have and can keep it tight.

Yep I have a feeling the series is going to be pretty close, England are looking a lot better than a few months ago.

Australia should still win but it won't be 5-0

Has averaged 52 over past 2 years with the bat. I like M Marsh but I have doubts he could dig in if coming in at 4 down for bugger all & save us. More of a bloke who can come in & smash a ton & take the game away quickly when we are in a reasonable position. Chuck in the fact that Haddin has been rat shit with the bat of late I think its a risk to play him.

Once Neville gets a go & cements his spot I would bat him at 6 & M Marsh 7.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

That sucks!

Last I heard his knee damage wasn't as bad as first thought, obviously that changed again.

Great cricketer.

Settles our pace attack then.
